First time ever using an architect after recently moving house. With a quick Google search for the Carluke area and Y2 popped up. I left a brief message about having a garage conversion to dinning room like most of the other houses on the estate appeared to have done. Ryan was intouch shortly after arranging to come around the following day. While having a look at the space we were told that it could be more than just a dining room and this is where the creativity of Y2 started. A few days later we had 3 options 1 sort of generic what we were after option, another more sort of practical, and a 3rd that was something completely different, which blew us away. After showing my partner we both immediately agreed that the Y2 idea was the best turning the garage into a multi functional space with improved natural lighting from skylights a utility/boiler cupboard space for dining room as well as a bar. This is where I thought an architects services ended but I was wrong. Over the next few days Ryan was able to point us in the right direction with permit expectations how to apply for the required warrant as well as ironing out further questions from building standards. I don't have another experience to compare this to but I'm glad we picked Y2 to help us with out first venture with the new house. The amount of support has been outstanding. Gordon originally came out to install my feature fire, but I asked him about other work I wanted done - removing a wall between my kitchen and living room, installing a new kitchen, flooring throughout as well as new radiators and lighting. The work was completed ahead of schedule and I’m delighted with the results. I had an issue with some of the appliances howdens sent out but Gordon resolved that for me.
