Force free group training classes for Puppies and adult dogs. Force free 1-2-1 Training for Puppies and adult dogs Training Methods We Use There are many different terms used to describe positive training techniques: positive reinforcement, reward-based, force-free etc.. What they all have in common is a shared belief that it is much safer, more effective, to teach our dogs using the concept that if you reward a behaviour you like, it is more likely that that behaviour will be repeated. If you ignore or redirect a behaviour you do not like, it is more likely that the behaviour will decrease. Combine this with the awareness that dogs are not wolves trying to dominate us, and therefore do not need to be controlled using dominance-based punishment techniques, and you have the recipe for our training beliefs We believe that enhancing your relationship with your dog and having fun go hand in hand

Simply Behaviour

Simply Behaviour

My name is Georgie and I have been a dog trainer and certified behaviourist for over 10 years. I specialise in behaviour modification using applied psychological techniques. I work with reward based methodology with a particular passion for techniques that give the dog free choice (the most effective way to learn) and reduce stress. Communication between dog and owner is something I go through with you at great length as well as giving you tips on how to read your dog's behaviour. I show you how to set up the training and environment so that you can change your relationship with you dog and this provides a wonderful platform for reinforcement. Most of my clients work with me for the long term and I am the go to person for organisations such as the IAABC and the ISCP. I write and publish articles that educate trainers and behaviourists. I work at Portsmouth University in their dog social cognition projects and use social learning to find out information about the prosocial behaviour of dogs (it’s brilliant fun). I also work at a college which specialises in teaching children with learning disabilities. I am certified as an applied behaviourist with ABTC and IAABC and an affiliate of the ISCP. Please take a look at my biography if you want to find out more www.simplybehaviour.com/bio/ My typical approach is to have an initial telephone conversation to establish what fits with your needs and those of the dog. I am flexible in what we can do and most people traditionally would like to have a full consultation and/or training session. Behaviour referrals would require us to get a simple referral from your vet (this is a requirement for any certified professional in this industry) and then we can rule out any medical reasons why the behaviour might be occurring. Some cases may not require a vet referral and these will probably fall into the training category. Please note: some insurance companies will pay up to £500 towards your behaviour costs, this is why we need to get a referral letter from your vet and it should be the vet you are registered with. Training I offer 1-2-1 and online training courses for dog owners (and trainers). Not all dogs thrive in a classroom setting and my preference is to help you train your dog in the context that he will be living. So, I tend to start a session at the house (low distracting environment) and then help you out on walks and in other places (this is great fun) and much more practical than being in a classroom. I can help with socialisation too and this is best achieved in the setting in which it will occur. Owner training I use a 5 point task technique (which breaks the information down into bite size pieces) for each behaviour we work with and employ a technique call Tagteach. This is the most effective way to teach dog owners (according to the evidence). I help you to learn the skills to teach your dog yourself. I provide a fun interactive training pack with training schedules and charts which are great for kids and the whole family. I like to train as a team with people so that everyone can get rewarded for their efforts and it is the most effective way to progress and have consistency. Please call me between the hours of 9am-8pm Mon-Sun on 01252724772 Or email me on: info@simplybehaviour.com My website is: www.simplybehaviour.com A list of my cheap affordable courses for dog owners can be found here: http://www.simplybehaviour.com/owner-courses/ Each course is around £10 and they are certificated. Please note: You will get free access to these courses when we start working with each other so that you can benefit from my experience and knowledge going forward. I am friendly, easygoing and professional. I pride myself on being able to give impartial, non-judgemental advice. Each case is kept confidential. My training sessions are often videoed for my own understanding and development. These are often useful to watch back so we can track progress and make sure we have not missed anything with our training. These videos are often shown to other professionals for the purposes of education and to help identify ways in which we can help your dog. I would be delighted to speak to you about the best way we can help and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Barking Mad

Barking Mad

Barking Mad is verified Certificate of Excellence 2015

Our Service We know everyone needs to get away every now and then, so we thought it was about time dogs had a holiday too… If there’s anybody who knows about dogs, then it’s us. Since 2000 we’ve been arranging ‘homey’ holidays just as good as the one we had with Grandma when we went to the beach, ate ice cream and everything. Every day, everybody says thank you, and we don’t think life can get any better than that! (Read about our story) When you book a Barking Mad holiday, you can be confident your dogs’ are going to have as good a time as you - although secretly we hope it’s even better! Who’s who - It’s really important to get to know you and your dog, especially in the beginning. We’ll come to you and over a cup of tea you can tell us all about your day-to-day routines for feeding and exercising so we can replicate this for your dog. We’ll chat about likes (usually a lot), dislikes (usually the postman) and any healthcare requirements. By the second chocolate digestive we’ve started to understand your dogs’ individual needs and lifestyle. By the end of our meeting, which usually takes around an hour, we’ll all be getting along famously. Oh and don’t worry, we love dogs of all shapes and sizes, pedigree, Heinz 57 or rescue. They can sleep in the bedroom, pull on the lead, or even hide your favourite socks. As long as they are friendly we’ll get along just fine. Holiday home - Selecting the right host family is very important and your input into this process is invaluable. You will want to know where your dog is going, so during our time together you are going to see all of our dog-loving families. They are just like you and me, and guaranteed to meet our extremely high pet sitting standards. Together we’ll make the right choice, and you can decide whether your best friend stays in a home with or without a resident dog, depending on his needs. 5 Star - Our service includes door-to-door, chauffeur driven transport for your dog. Being collected from home is far less stressful, and completely overcomes the anxiety caused to dogs when left behind by their owners. Our experience has shown visiting dogs settle more quickly with their home comforts around them including bed, food, toys and treats, arranged as they would be at home. In no time at all, they’ve become part of the family, with their paws placed firmly under the table. Our hosts are at home during the day to ensure round the clock care is always provided, especially where puppies, dogs on regular medication and senior citizens are concerned. We’re in touch with our hosts regularly, so we will keep you posted during your time away about anything you need to know. The best bit for us is seeing dogs happily settled-in and comfortable with their host. We will, wherever possible, be sure to use the same family each time you book a holiday. There are no minimum or maximum time limits, we’re here whenever you need us.

Simply Dog Behaviour

Simply Dog Behaviour

I am a dog behaviourist registered and insured. I am associated with three force free training associations, which means that all my training methods are geared around treating your dog in the right way. This is done without having to shout, hit, punish through aversive methods to correct a behaviour, and all training is about understanding your dog and guiding it in the right direction, so it uses its brain and becomes a more confident and happy dog.

Pendlebairn

Pendlebairn

Pendlebairn Pet Behaviour Classes teach your dogs life skills What do we mean by this? Well, we teach you both the life skills that help you to live happily together. Here at Pendlebairn Land, we don't go in for marching round and round, or up and down for that matter, but we do go in for using psychology based training method which is both kind and effective, so everybody wins! We hope that once you've finished the course, you'll be so brimming with doggy training knowledge that you'll be teaching the party tricks to show off to all your friends, four legged and otherwise... We're sure you don't just want to learn any old thing; well, Pendlebairn teach The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme, a nationwide scheme providing independent assessors in order to give a standardized level of training, and you get a lovely rosette and certificate for the fridge! We run the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Puppy awards (you could collect 3 or 4... you'll be the most accessorised pair in the park!). Obedience Classes The Traditional one, a group class, great as a socialising opportunity for you and your dog! Classes are held on Tuesday evenings in Rossendale and Leigh, and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Denton. Classes cost £25 per calendar month. Although we want you to meet people and other doggy pals, class sizes are limited, we want to learn not just party so please call to book a place! Bootcamp The Outdoor one, these group classes are in the great British outdoors with the butterflies, sunshine and sometimes, maybe, a little liquid sunshine too! Classes are held in Torkington Park, Stockport at 9.00am on Saturdays and in Denton, Manchester at 9.30am on Sunday mornings. Classes cost £25 per calendar month. As we have all the distracions of the real world, class sizes are limited to ensure that you get as much of our attention as you deserve. So pick up the dog and bone and book a place. One-to-One Lessons The Private one, Pendlebairn lessons come to your living room. We don't insist on biscuits, a cup of tea, or coffee, but you have the option of getting someone to make you one while we work! Perfect for if you can't make one of our classes for some reason. Lessons cost £25 per session, and can be scheduled at a time to suit you, we're very flexible but we do need our beauty sleep. Give us a call to coordinate diaries and book your lesson. The Pendlebairn Behaviour Consultation Behaviour consultations are, whenever possible, conducted in the home so that the dog behaves in his/her typical manner. If in unfamiliar environment, it is to be expected that the dog will react differently and therefore would not give a clear indication of the problem to the behaviourist. Each consultation lasts for approximately 2 hours and costs £80. A written programme is then given to assist the owner in the rehabilitation work suggested by the behaviourist. Within the programme are notes to assist the owner in following the advice, as instructed during the consultation. Most behavioural problems need only one consultation although further time is optional if the problem persists. During rehabilitation, support is offered by telephone and e-mail at no extra cost.
