What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

To have the creative vision of the final image, underpinned by the technical excellence to make it happen. Or to paraphrase, Love what you do.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Very basically, I will find out what my client wants to achieve with and feel about the work we produce together. Understanding this just simply allows us to channel all our energy towards delighting the client.

What do you love most about your job?

Honestly, meeting people, finding out about them, what they are about and doing all this in the context of doing something I love, which will delight them. What could be a better thing to wake up to each day.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been an avid photographer since my youth, saving my school dinner money for months to buy my first camera (1980), developing my films and prints in the school darkroom and ever since. I have always wanted to be a professional photographer. I grew up on a rough council estate, with my backside "...anging out me kecks..." as they say. I took the "safe" career of apprenticeship and so on to bring home some bacon. As time has gone on, I have been able to reduce my reliance on other work and build my professional photographer business, having never lost the love of painting with light (aka photography).

Why should our clients choose you?

I will provide great service. I have learned so much in over 40 years of photography through practice and training. I bring it all to the project. I am in this for the love of what I do.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can provide photo-editing services. My photography is in-situ with my client. I can of course perform product photography remotely.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Tracking and tracing. Social distancing. Avoiding confined spaces. Complying with Covid advice and regulations fully.
