What do you love most about your job?

The variety, being outdoors regardless of the weather, meeting new people and their amazing pets and never having two days the same.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I'd been thinking about it for a while but never had the courage. I'd worked in health and social care for a long time so it was a big leap of faith to try something new, but I haven't looked back since. I've always loved animals and have always had dogs, even from being little and I am really fortunate to have some beautiful places right on my doorstep to take the dogs exploring, plus I still get to use the people skills and customer skills I'd learned so it was a win win for me.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm friendly, down to earth, reliable and professional and I make the walks fun for your dogs. I genuinely care about your pets and the quality of service I give. I don't do things by halves! I'm trained in pet first aid, I am fully insured and CRB checked. I am also registered with NarpsUk which means I also sign up to and uphold their code of practise which in turn ensures you have a quality service.

The price of hiring a dog walker will depend on the area of the UK in which you live, with prices typically higher in the South of England and particularly in London. The cost of hiring a dog walker will often be lower in the North of England and in Scotland and Wales.

The most important thing when you’re hiring a dog walker is that both you and your dog trust them. You should also ensure that your dog walker has public liability insurance that covers them in case of damage, accident or loss. The best way to find a reliable and trustworthy dog walker is by reading reviews of previous clients. When you hire a dog walker through Bark, you can browse the profiles of dog walkers in your local area and read honest reviews from genuine customers.

It is recommended that a dog walker should walk a maximum of four dogs at a time, to enable them to maintain good control of each dog. Most dog walkers will give you the option of having your dog walked alone or with other dogs. Walking with other dogs will help your dog to develop valuable social skills. However, if your dog is reactive, you may prefer for them to be walked alone.
