I asked Dan for help with my 11 month old Shepherd/Malamute puppy as she was very excitable in regards to jumping up and her general excitement and walking her was becoming a task rather then a luxury as she would pull and physical get to a point where she would choke herself to the point she was breathless.
Dan came and assessed her in her own home and with the people she loves and love her and the difference in his presence was noticeable straight away! My pup was calmer and much more relaxed around Dan and he was so calm and collective around her! We looked at why she was as excitable as she was and Dan gave me pointers on where I was going wrong and how to correct myself as the dog would react better and then we went out for a walk and Dan explained how she was in charge and I was doing what she wanted! We changed this with a few correction moves and Dan spoke to me about a few things and we have been working on this since Dan visit and I can see the difference in my pup already! I asked for Dans help with Ted (my 18 month old Cockapoo ) that isn’t keen on children.
After one session with Dan he gave me all the tips and taught me to recognise the change in behaviour which is the trigger for Ted to react to children negatively.
I was so nervous beforehand ( like taking an exam while the headmaster is watching ) but Dan was so friendly and not condescending whatsoever .
His relaxed approach made the 2 hour session surprisingly enjoyable in the end 😁
We spent most of the session actually out walking with Ted putting all the tips in to practice rather than sat in house talking about it.
And I am noticing changes already.

Dan (Virtue canine services) Came to help us with our two dogs. One pulls on the lead and is reactive to small Dogs and the other has food aggression over high reward treats. Dan was brilliant. He explained the Dogs behaviours and how to read their body language. He helped loads with my convidence showing me that If i stay calm, the dog will follow suit. He showed us different collars for the pulling issue, one of which we have now ordered. I cant wait for it to come as between my calmness and the collar the walk was completely different. He was also honest about the food issue whereby Although she could be trained, given her age and how Deep the issue is, it wouldnt have done the dog any good. He also, instead of 'giving up', expanded to tell us examples of how we can prevent the behaivour by using different foods/treats and how, for our dog, prevention is better than getting rid of the problem. Dan was open and honest and explained everything and concidering he was with us for 5 hours and travelled a fair way was very well priced! (If not cheap!) I would highly recommend Dan. were on our way to Enjoying our two pooches again 😀 More...
