Had a fabulous time at this stunning hotel - amazing location located by the river. We had a lovely time sat in the deck chairs by the river. Lovely outside bar and eating area - the pizza were divine ! ||Large clean room, which were comfortable and quiet so we both slept well. Lots of lovely areas to seat and have drinks in the hotel. Easy to park||Had a lovey full breakfast with lots of choice in the morning all the staff were lovely and really helpful other than the breakfast manager who was rude and rather unpleasant to his staff and guests - we had been there to celebrate my mother’s birthday so want to eat breakfast together, but he wasn’t having any of this. A lovely waitress sorted this for us and then was shouted at by him. Very unprofessional . But otherwise would highly recommend and am looking forward to staying again More...

We stayed here as our Lapland UK visit was early. Everything was great I would recommend this as a family friendly hotel my daughter thought it was great that she was given orange juice we received a drink too. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas which gave that extra magic before going to Lapland UK.||||The only thing I would suggest is that the staff update themselves on this as they didn't seem to know about Lapland UK. But it didn't affect our stay. More...

We stayed with friends for my wifes birthday weekend. I had booked us a room with a river view for extra cost, with our friends in a standard double. However when we arrived our friends were next door with the same view! Not sure what the extra £40 was for then. Bit disappointing and would not recommend paying the extra. However our stay was great. A lovely character hotel, beautiful ground and the staff really make it excellent. Would love to stay in warmer weather. More...

My family organised me a surprise 70th birthday treat at the Oakley Court Hotel in early December, and everyone at the hotel surpassed themselves. We had a private room, which was lovely, a delicious lunch and the attention to detail from each staff member was second to none. Here I would make special mention of Michael, for whom nothing was too much trouble. I had the most wonderful time there, and can thoroughly recommend. More...

I’ve been to the Ritz etc. and afternoon tea at the Oakley Court was up to that standard and better in some ways. The hotel and drawing room were beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas. We were greeted by Raphael, who was promptly brought us the tea menu and explained everything. I was treating my dear friends for their special Wedding Anniversary, The 2 hours we spent cosily sitting in front of the fire, service was very attentive and everything was perfect. Scones, sandwiches and cakes all excellent. We indulged in a glass of champagne too!||||After talking with Raphael, who is a very erudite man, we walked outside as the sun was setting in front of the river, where the trees were lit up and the ambiance inside and out was a delight, although chilly by the river.||||My only slight criticism and suggestion, is to be able to supply a back cushion on request, as some of the easy chairs are very soft and deep for anyone who needs support. Raphael did find one, but said it’s “not fashionable” to have cushions on chairs anymore. I’m not complaining and it didn’t spoil a fabulous afternoon.||||Thank you for the special memory. More...

We did a two night stay this past week and it was a great experience. Upon arrival the staff were so welcoming and the service fantastic. We were greeted with champagne on check in. The hotel itself is just like the photos. The breakfast was one of the best hotel buffets. And again the staff were tremendous. 10 minutes to Windsor Castle. There are other great restaurants nearby. We would love to stay here again in the summer. More...

This is a fantastic gothic house in lovely grounds on the banks of the Thames. The main building has bags of character that was only enhanced by the Christmas decorations. Public room are light and classy.||Service was smooth and efficient. Our room, 226 is a fantastic and spacious suite, with views of the river, gardens and the main house itself.||The breakfast buffet is generous, with excellent choice and quality.||The only downside was the hotel was dominated by a large conference group which may have made independent guests feel a bit side-lined. It didn’t bother us as we were out during both evenings of our stay.||The big group made breakfast busy but even at ‘rush-hour’ we were given a table quickly.||Strongly recommended. More...

Had a voucher from last year to use so came for Sunday lunch. This is an amazing building and the dining room is comfortable and sophisticated. Plenty of room between tables. Service was welcoming and friendly. We had the smoked salmon with goats cheese mousse to start with followed by the roast beef dinner for me which was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables and roast pork for my friend. She had the apple crumble and I had the baked banana three ways, delicious. Can also recommend their G&T's, really enjoyed it. More...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here with our family & friends, 25 of us altogether. Really nice hotel in a lovely setting. A warm & friendly reception on arrival with friendly check in. Shown to our room by a lovely man who took the time to chat to the kids. Rooms are bright spacious and clean. Fridge, safe, iron and tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms. All bar staff and restaurant staff were lovely and friendly and did their best to accommodate us as a large group. But.. I have one complaint. I was emailed soon after booking and told I would have to pay another £140 because because my 12 year old are classed as adults so would need to pay more money!! Really? 12 year olds are not adults, they do not receive any more or less from the hotel than my 7 year old! They eat from the kids menu, they can’t be left alone in the room, they were brought kids size dressing gowns, they can’t get a beer at the bar, they are not adults!! And when they went to go swimming we’re told ‘sorry you can’t come in alone you must have an adult to supervise you’. This made it quite an expensive 2 night stay was the only downside! More...

We loved William's Sunday lunch at Monkey Island so we were glad he did not move to far to Oakley Court! Still the same great quality, although the waiting staff were a bit too zealous - asking what water we wanted before we sat down, taking the bread plate away from my partner while I was still eating my bread and explaining the bill to me when this was a 'treat' for my partner who I did not necessarily want to know how much I had spent - but apart from that, it was great.
