I took part in one of James Hardy’s workshop’s recently which taught me how to manage my strength training alongside Jiu Jitsu. The amount of information provided was brilliant and with great detail. I had a few questions going into the weekend and all of them were answered which helped me see that I was not training as optimally as I could be.I really appreciated how James would make sure that everyone understood the techniques and information shown. I would recommend, and have recommended, James Hardy to anyone looking to understand strength and conditioning, especially alongside Jiu Jitsu. More...

I have been working with James for the past 3-4 years now and have thoroughly enjoyed my time learning from him. James brings a common sense, science based approach to fitness, nutrition and wellbeing. His pragmatic nature and calm approachable demeanour has not only made working out fun but has really helped me implement effective and sustainable eating plans allowing me to hit nutritional goals much easier. He brings a unique perspective to the sports fitness and nutrition sector imo being also a competitive martial artist he is well equipped to tailor PT plans to suit professional athletes as well as normal ‘Joe’s’ like me! Worked with James for 4.5 years now. James has helped me with my strength and conditioning for BJJ, competition prep, rehabilitation after injuries and serious illness. As a martial arts competitor I wanted to drop a weight class without losing any strength. I approached James and asked for his help as I didn’t have very long to do it or have the knowledge in order to get there healthily. With James’ help and advice I managed to drop just over 13kg in a couple of months and got to my goal weight earlier than needed so I could train and perform at that weight before the competition. I haven’t lost any strength, just body fat and feel much better as I’m eating much healthier and feel more efficient whilst training. Without the advice from James I wouldn’t have been able to get there or stay there! I have and will continue to recommend James for any diet/training needs. More...

I have been training with James for over a year now and have seen excellent results. I initially approached him for help following recurring back injuries and he developed a bespoke programme which has progressively strengthened that area, to the point where I am back to 100% for my Jiu Jitsu training. He has also tailored programmes for me to overcome knee injuries, as well as strength and conditioning routines for my fiancé. I’ve been trained by James for nearly four years now. He has a knack for knowing just how far he can push you to get the best results without over-doing it. His technical understanding of how to compile a fitness and diet programme tailored for whatever area I currently want to work on means that I gain the benefits across all my training sessions, and not just the hour I spend with him each week. When I first started working in the fitness industry, my aim was be a sponge and try to learn as much as I could from the experienced trainers at my gym. I must have worked with close to 30 trainers before I met someone who was worth listening to. James is genuine and honest, he won’t sell you any shortcuts or fads, just a strong evidence based approach. He will operate with integrity, and has the ability to use critical thinking without pushing any bias. He will listen and observe, and understands the principle of how to manage progressions, but also knows how to manage fatigue and when to hold back, to allow his clients a greater chance of success in the future. I was recommended to go to James for personal training and he does not disappoint. Being someone that does not naturally enjoy exercise, James makes the sessions enjoyable and encourages me to push myself constantly. Not only has my body shape changed, I feel stronger and fitter as a result after a few months of training. James' knowledge of nutrition and exercise is vast.
