What do you love most about your job?

As a wedding planner, what I love most is the opportunity to bring a couple’s unique vision to life. It’s incredibly rewarding to see all the details come together on their special day, knowing that I played a part in making their dreams a reality. The joy and emotion in those moments, along with the chance to meet diverse couples and learn their stories, make every day exciting and fulfilling. Plus, I get to be part of one of the happiest days of their lives :)

What inspired you to start your own business?

My inspiration to start my own wedding & events planning business came from a deep passion for creating meaningful experiences. I’ve always loved organising events and bringing people together, but weddings have a unique magic. After planning a few weddings for friends and family, I realised how fulfilling it was to help couples celebrate their love and create lasting memories.

I wanted to offer personalised, stress-free planning that reflects each couple’s individuality. Seeing the joy on their faces when everything comes together is what drives me. Starting my own business allowed me to turn that passion into a career, where I can truly make a difference in people’s lives during such an important time.

Why should our clients choose you?

Clients should choose me as their wedding planner because I genuinely care about their unique vision and experience. Here’s what sets me apart:

Creative Problem Solver: Weddings can be unpredictable, but my experience allows me to handle any challenges that arise with ease and grace, keeping everything on track.

Passion for What I Do: My enthusiasm for weddings translates into a positive and enjoyable planning experience, making the journey just as memorable as the day itself.

Ultimately, my goal is to create a beautiful and unforgettable celebration that couples will cherish forever. I’m here to support them every step of the way!

Capacity Management: I help couples navigate local regulations regarding guest capacity and social distancing, providing strategies to ensure compliance while keeping the celebration enjoyable.

Outdoor and Hybrid Options: I encourage outdoor venues or hybrid ceremonies that allow for a mix of in-person and virtual attendance, making it easier for guests to participate safely.

Health and Safety Briefings: On the day of the event, I ensure that all parties involved are briefed on safety protocols, including guest check-in procedures and hygiene measures.

Emergency Plans: I create contingency plans for any last-minute changes, ensuring that couples can pivot quickly if necessary.

These measures prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved while still allowing couples to celebrate their special day in a meaningful way. I'm committed to creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all my clients and their guests.

Hamish and the team were absolute amazing from start to finish. Fantastic communication in the lead up, everything we wanted photographed was captured and nothing was a problem. Hamish even made assembling everyone for a group photo look like a breeze! The team were relaxed and friendly on the day and really added to the vibe of the whole wedding. I honestly could have posted hundreds of the photos that they took on the day as they were all wonderful. We can’t recommend Splash Weddings enough. Thank you Hamish and crew, keep smiling and keep up the great work!!!!

Splash photography- There's only so much I could say that will still fall short of the quality this business gave us. Hamish co-ordinated our wedding on Thursday 14/3 and was also our MC. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to Hamish and the Photography/ Videography team for all their amazing work and diligence! the preparation was so smooth and easy flowing, their commitment to detail and their workmanship was second to none. Hamish personally was a true gentleman, went above and beyond to ensure our big special day was captured to perfection. I couldn't recommend Splash photography enough for any events, ESPECIALLY something as important as your big day!! Also a massive thank you to Julie for all the behind the scenes work and co-ordination, the whole team pulled through and we are beyond grateful for the opportunity to have had Hamish and Splash Photography at our wedding! 10/10

Outstanding experience with Hany of Splash Weddings! Photographing 6 family members with a majority of young bubs was nearly impossible. Hany made it seem light and breezy work. The photos came SO FAST! Just an all round great experience that won’t disappoint. You’ll be a great hands here.

First and foremost, a wedding planner is responsible for the planning and the logistics of your wedding. This includes finding and securing a venue, which is an important first step as all of your suppliers will be asking where and when the wedding is. A wedding planner will also source said suppliers for things such as the catering, entertainment, and the flowers. They are also responsible for the scheduling of the day, to ensure there is enough time allotted for each element of your ceremony and reception. All in all, a wedding planner is there to make sure the day runs smoothly and that your vision comes to life.

The cost of a wedding planner will depend on several factors. For example, the size of the wedding and the location.

A wedding planner should be highly organised, especially when they are in charge of the timings, managing the budget, and the logistics of the whole day. Aside from this though, they should be someone who is a great listener. They should be highly experienced in wedding planning, and be able to problem-solve. Most of all, they should possess the ability to put you at ease, especially as their job is to take away the stress for you.

Not all weddings are created equal! Depending on what you had in mind for your big day, you should opt for a wedding planner who specialises in the level of help you need.

  • Full Service - A full service wedding planner will quite literally plan every aspect of your wedding. It’s ideal for couples who are too busy to take on the planning themselves. They are with you from the start and will work with you on all the big decisions as well as the finer details.
  • Partial Service - A partial wedding planner is for couples who know what they want but need help with some of the last-minute details. They tend to come in a few weeks up to around 3 months before your big day. Partial wedding planners help elevate that last-minute stress when most of your wedding is already taken care of, but you want to ensure the finishing touches run smoothly.
  • Destination - If you plan on marrying abroad then opt for a destination wedding planner. They are best placed to help you with all the arrangements including travel. They will also research the best suppliers and entertainment. Plus, they’ll take care of any other hidden details that need to be ironed out when your wedding is happening in a different country.
  • Weekend Wedding - Weekend weddings are those which are spread over several days. They require an increased level of planning and logistics to take care of your guests, compared with a regular wedding. For example, a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, and even a post-wedding brunch the next day. They will also factor in the entertainment.

There are no qualifications that a wedding planner has to have to be able to operate. It’s something that anyone can do. So, the best way to check if they are the right fit for you is to have a consultation with them. Be sure to do your research, check their reviews, and have a look at the weddings they have planned previously to get an idea of what they could achieve for you.

While your wedding planner will be taking care of the finer details for you, it’s still a good idea to think about the kind of day you want.

For example, the size of the wedding, colour schemes, what type of flowers, and the overall theme. There are a lot of decisions to be made so it can be helpful to talk with your partner beforehand about what you both envision. That way you can be on the same page with your wedding planner right from the start.

Also, be sure to inform your wedding guests of the date of the wedding at the earliest opportunity, so that they have time to arrange transport or book the time off work.

Wedding planners are there to help you organise your big day, and so compared to making impulse purchases because you’re stressed or simply don’t know what you want - absolutely!

It’s also possible to find a wedding planner that specialises in budget-friendly weddings too.

Remember, while they are doing all of the planning, it is still you who is in control. Your wedding planner will work with you to create a budget and present the costs to you before they go ahead and book. If the budget is the absolute priority for you, then you should stress this from the start.

Yes! After all, you only get one wedding day and so it needs to feel like a special occasion for both of you. Plus for all your family and friends who will be attending too. Given most people are new to planning a wedding, having a professional take care of everything for you can result in a day that far exceeds what you could have achieved alone.

Even if you already have an exact vision in mind, bringing that to life can be tricky, especially if you lack time or expertise in planning and logistics. Having a consultation with a wedding planner will shed more light on what they can create for you, which will help you get a clearer picture as to whether a wedding planner is right for you.

Choosing a wedding dress is one of the biggest decisions for the whole day. Understandably with so much choice out there, it can be tricky to find a dress that ticks all the right boxes. While the ultimate decision is up to you, a wedding planner can help you source the best bridal boutiques and arrange a fitting for you. They can also help source outfits for the groom as well as bridesmaids dresses.

Absolutely! From choosing your dream venue to finding the perfect musician to play while you walk down the aisle, there's nothing stopping your wedding planner from planning your big day from afar.
