Feral Studios do things a bit differently. When we needed a new studio we didn’t opt for a small city centre office surrounded by nondescript tower blocks. Instead we took the entire second floor of an old textile mill located between Leeds, Manchester and Huddersfield. We make sure the space is put to good use. The mill now houses our in-house photography studio, a large creative space, meeting areas, a fashion brands showroom, a gym area and a hammock.

I attended the 5 day course from the 13th of March 2017. I had been looking for training like this for a while and there is nothing like it here in Scotland. Couldn't find a duff review for this course so bit the bullet and have no regrets. It's pretty full on so be prepared. So much information you really need to be taking notes where you can. Gary really knows his stuff inside out, and Paula is a gem. A real photographer in her own right but only seems to get credit for providing the grub, which is Fab!! I was a total greenhorn and found the location shoots a bit challenging as I'm not used to working at that speed, or in the studio. I hope to go back for a portfolio day as soon as one is available, because this is a quality service, run by quality people. Sign up, don't have any doubt. It cost me as much for my accommodation and travel as it did for the course and I would do it again.

I’ve done photography for around 8 years and everything I have learnt has been by doing things my way so I do like to think that comes out in my photos and the editing. The single most important thing is light. Without a consideration the crafting of light and shadows, you wouldn't have an image to show for in the first place! A black screen is pretty hard to decipher.
I have a massive personal emphasis on capturing every moment as you're never going to be this age, at this time, and on this exact date and year ever again. Pictures are incredibly imperative in capturing a moment and being able to reflect on the memories of that date again. I'd hope when I'm no longer taking pictures, that my clients will have special images of them and their loved ones to treasure. I love being able to be part of that memory creating process for people.
I have always been interested in Photography and art. I was inspired by a childhood friend's mum who is a photographer when she took some pictures for my family when I was 10. My first camera was a little pink compact camera and ever since, I have continuously upgraded my kit and skills, now with a Bachelor degree with Honours in Photography. I have always valued the act of treasuring each and every moment so here I am, many moons later!
