One thing that became clear to me was that a very large amount of conversion companies were run by salesmen or individuals with no trade background, many of whom had never actually built a loft themselves. I felt that this statistic needed to change. Which is why I not only run the company, I'm also involved in the building of our conversions. The first and most crucial element in knowing whether your loft can be converted is the hight you have available from the top of your ceiling joists to the underside of your ridge beam. This needs to be a minimum of 2 metres for a loft conversion to be possible.
