Firstly the venue is lovely and so we're the staff, cheerful friendly but profesional. The blot on our visit was the starter. .chicken wings. They were very nice, but served on a ridiculously small plate. You couldn't use a knife or fork as it was too small, and picking them up your hands got in such a mess it was on everything..no finger bowl, no napkin apart from the beautiful white linen ones!!!!. Never again would I choose those when i'm dressed for dining out, and neither should anyone else. All other food was great....sorry but without our own wet wipes we couldn't have carried on eating and drinking. Vegetarian options: Adequate as it was quite a concise set lunch menu. Great afternoon tea with a large selection of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. The food was so copious that we had no chance of eating it all. They were well-prepared and provided boxes for us to take the leftovers home. The location is very historic with Tudor beams, although take care is you're tall! We had a big ask of this restaurant, we had a cancellation at another venue and The Siege House accommodated us which was amazing as we was a table of 15(+2Babies) we all had a wonderful meal and great service. First time visiting and wasn't disappointed. Big group of 14 people for a family birthday was well looked after by the friendly head of house and her team. No incorrect or missing orders. Steak's were all cooked too perfection. Service overall was excellent. Was seated on a big table next to an open fire which was lovely. Will definitely return.
