As an employer with over 130 employees, we have been a subscriber to Rely's HR Essentials service since 2013 and have found this to be of invaluable support and assistance.

During this time, Rely has provided a variety of HR related letter templates, updated our terms and conditions of employment and assisted with our new Employee Handbook.
Nicky has also provided advice and support on absence management, redundancies, settlement agreements (including direct liaison with employees' solicitors), employee disputes, grievances and other HR related issues.

We have taken the opportunity to buy HR Time Credits and this too has proven to be extremely good value. Additionally, with only one employee in our HR department, it is important to have support for Directors when our HR Manager is on annual leave.

Rely also provide training on many topics which is presented in a clear and concise manner with supporting documentation that can be referred to as a reminder at a later date.

We can highly recommend Rely and shall be pleased to speak to anyone considering using Nicky's services.

Q&As

From an HR perspective, we love being able to help clients avoid employment related issues by giving them sound HR advice together with comprehensive and relevant documentation, so enabling them to concentrate on growing their businesses and not worrying about HR. When we provide training and coaching, it feels really worthwhile to then see participants develop their skillsets further.

Was demotivated working for faceless, corporate organisations who never wanted to give a straight answer or offer alternative solutions and believed we could offer a much better service.

We are dedicated to providing accurate and timely advice to all clients we deal with. We have a pragmatic approach and a huge wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon - there aren't many situations we haven't had to deal with before! We don't tell clients what they must do, preferring to field a range of options wherever possible. Informing clients is our role - it's for them to make the final decision on what actions they take or don't take as the case may be.

Most HR services are provided online and remotely, however generally speaking we are happy to visit clients premises if they are within a 60 mile radius. Coaching can be provided on line where there are one or two participants but training needs to be face to face.

Services

When faced with an HR issue, it's always best to get professional advice sooner rather than later as there are so many pitfalls awaiting the unwary employer! Constant changes to employment law and best practice make it even harder for small businesses without their own HR professional to keep up to date.

We are dealing with employee issues all the time and have a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw upon to help you.

Contact us for help on all HR matters including disciplinary matters and dismissals, grievances, redundancies, long term ill health, employee's rights and entitlements, attendance issues.

All the advice we give is backed by our professional indemnity insurance. We'll aim to give you a few options to consider including any potential consequences as we see them. If you need documentation, we can provide that too.

A robust, comprehensive and legally compliant employment contract is an essential item in the employer/employee relationship and can help avoid so many problems later on.
There are many different kinds of employment contract for example offering permanent, fixed term, zero hours, casual, annualised or even term time only basis employment. We'll help you decide which one you need. We provide bespoke master employment contract templates designed to meet an employer's exact needs. Once created by us, the template can be used again and again. If you'd like us to just create a contract for one specific employee, we're happy to do that too. We'll need you to tell us a bit about the job role and your business so we can help you decide which type of employment contract will best suit and identify if it is advisable to include any additional non-standard clauses. Bear in mind that employment contracts should be provided to the new employee either before they start employment or on their first day at the latest.

As well as employment contracts, it's so important to have a comprehensive and current staff handbook in place. The staff handbook should contain key policies and procedures, general rules, your expectations etc. We can provide a Staff Handbook template for you to customise or we are happy to customise our template for you.

A settlement agreement is a useful tool for employers and employees wishing to resolve employment disputes or just to safeguard themselves for some reason without resorting to an employment tribunal.

As a legally binding document it is imperative that the settlement agreement is compliant and covers the particular needs of the situation it is being asked to address.

We are able to provide bespoke settlement agreements and manage the process of getting these signed off by the employee. We can also provide letters setting out proposals for settlement agreements.

It is usually necessary to broach the subject of a settlement agreement with the employee first, by means of either a Protected or Without Prejudice Conversation. We can also assist with this.

We provide training and coaching services including: management & leadership, communication, HR essentials, assertiveness, equality and diversity, time management and customer care.

Our Management Development Programme is suitable for those who are either new to management or experienced managers, within team leader, supervisor and senior management or Director level roles.

As a licensed practitioner of Motivational Maps, we can help you unlock and learn how to utilise the motivational factors and reward strategies that will drive your staff to peak performance.

We can also provide access to a range of other assessments for use either during recruitment and selection or within staff development.

We are able to supply all kinds of HR letters and forms either as templates or tailored to meet the specific situation you are trying to address.

When drafting a letter in relation to a formal meeting (such as a disciplinary hearing etc), it is very important to make sure the letter includes all the necessary information to make it fully compliant, or this could result in a breach of the ACAS Code of Practice.

Job offer letters need to include details of any special conditions which are attached to the job offer, such as a requirement to hold a full and valid driving licence, or to complete a probationary period to the employer's satisfaction.

So many different aspects of business and employment have been impacted by the pandemic. If you need advice or support on any aspect of this, we can help.
