The Green Reed Academy is a vision informed by various philosophies that have impacted on me throughout my life - including the teachings of Confucius that believe in the ability of any person to grow and improve if they persevere and work hard. I believe we can all do our best to reach our potential, regardless of the limits we ourselves set or the ones that others try to impose upon us. By breaking free, we can lead and inspire others to do the same.

None of us can do this alone. We find strength and meaning through the relationships that shaped and define us, the people that surround us in our families and communities, our friends, our neighbours, our workmates. They are the emotional hearth, that warms and fuels us.

Martial arts and fitness has helped me to cope with challenges throughout my life. Under the umbrella of the Green Reed Academy I hope to offer space and opportunities for children and adults to learn new skills, to grow and challenge themselves, to try - and sometimes to fail - but most importantly, to come together.
