Recently had my conservatory roof completed by Fortuna We went from standard poly carbonate to a warm roof system I must say the difference is unbelievable We used to find it very very cold in the winter very hot in the summer also the noice of it when it rained was terrible The system Fortuna carried out for me has resolved all of these problems Also the look of the rear of my property has transformed so much I can now use the space as a extra living area in my home - something I couldn't do before Very competitive price - 10/10 service Highly Reccomend

Had x3 bedroom windows replaced in June 2023 whilst my husband was undergoing chemotherapy for leukaemia. Their sales flyer quotes an invitation to treat by offering a sum against old windows however no figure for this is quoted in the contract paperwork which is against trading standards regulations. Having since obtained two alternative reputable quotes which are a lot lower, I can see that the flyer is a selling gimmick and their price for the work is inflated. The window frames had damage on all of them, the glass was scratched, the overboarding of my existing window boards was poorly done, the windows are finished differently in the bedrooms, 6 months on from installation and there is now misting between the panes of glass. I agreed that Fortuna could come back a second time as it was their decision to replace all x3 windows in September 2023 which was at the end of my husband’s treatment however the first window frame I inspected was damaged so I sent them away and requested the return of my deposit. There is also a question-mark over whether my trickle vents are the sufficient mm2 EA per bedroom to comply with building regs that changed in June 2022 however Fortuna would not respond to my query. They went silent on me and then threatened to issue debt recovery proceedings against me for the balance payment so I involved an ADR who appeared to be biased in their favour. I was being encouraged to make the balance payment so that they could return a third time but I held out and thankful that I did as they then went into administration, although from continuing reviews on here it appears that they are still undertaking work?? Regarding your reply.... why are you still using reviews that are years old when this 'new company name' has only been going a few months? ??? I have had 2 years of hell with this company. They built an extension that leaks!! Awful customer care, they put the price up half way through the job and terrible workmanship. I took legal advice to take legal action for a refund but I found out the Company had gone into Administration and changed their name slightly but still the same people !!! I have had a surveyor round to assess the build and he was shocked at the poor standard of workmanship - enough said!!! The team of 3 arrived promptly and worked continuously until they had removed the old and replaced with 8 new windows. They were cheerful,courteous and polite and worked in an extremely clean manner the entire day. A driveway costing £17,500 was laid in 2020, lost its colour, rejuvinator was used and it lost its colour again. The driveway was taken up in September 2023 and I have been phoning and emailing but no response. I was told to speak to Lewis and he advised me he does not work for the company anymore but have now found out the company has gone into liquidation. We ordered replacement PVCu windows and doors after receiving a leaflet for their services, followed by a visit from their salesman. We also took advantage of their 9 month 0% finance offer available at the time. We were contacted when all parts became available to arrange a date for installation. The installation was pretty traumatic as the old window frames had to be disassembled in place to get them out. Nevertheless the whole job was completed in the two days estimated and the final result looks pretty good. Now for some specific points that were not so good - 1. I noticed on the final day that the installation team had not sealed the gap between the frames with white sealant as the old frames had been. When asked why not, I was told 'it was the company standard' not to do so, the quadrant infill strips were installed using a 'secret seal' technique so needed no further weather proofing, and that 'the sealant would yellow over time'. None of which I was happy with as the old frames had been in place for 29 years with no sign of yellowing, and as all the old sealant had not been removed it was really obvious and looked a poor job. After this discussion the installers agreed to apply white sealant between window frames and brick work. 2. When the installers showed us how the door and window locks worked, they said the French windows had a different key for each of the two doors. The keys were the type with dimples and channels in them and we were shown that removing the key from one door and trying to insert it the same way round into the second door didn't work. After they had left we discovered that the keys fitted both doors, you only had to turn the key over to make the key removed from one door lock fit the lock in the other door. 3. Before the installers had completed on the final day, we got an Email from the finance company asking us to confirm the work had been completed to our satisfaction so the funds could be released to Fortuna. We waited until all work was completed before pressing the button in the Email. At that point we got another Email from the finance company saying our account with them had been created and we could view it online. This we did and could see the amount owed and when the first repayment was due in 9 months time. Imagine our surprise when around an hour later we get a phone call from someone calling himself Shaun from Fortuna, asking if we would be willing to accept a discount on the original price quoted if we paid the balance immediately. Of course, as this had just come 'out of the blue' we said we would need to think about it and we would call back the following day. Obviously, we then did some research into who this person called Shaun could be and was this some kind of scam. We found that Shaun was the forename of one of the directors of Fortuna World but, his mobile phone number was listed as being 'negative' on 'who called me UK'. So next day we called the accounts department of Fortuna World and were told that the finance company had 'pulled the plug' on their finance facility late on the previous day and that they had not been paid. So we said until we got something independently in writing from the finance company to confirm this we couldn't pay them no matter what discount they were offering. While we we still on the phone an Email from the finance company arrived stating that the finance agreement had been cancelled. So we agreed a fair discount with Fortuna and paid the balance that day. Fortunately, we were able to do so while this may not have been the case for others. Now, we are of a naturally suspicious nature and everything seems to have turned-out alright (we have a paid-up invoice from Fortuna, a letter from the finance company saying the finance agreement is cancelled, and the online finance account now indicates it is settled), we can't help but feel there was something 'fishy' going on. We had doors and windows fitted followed by solar panels. The product and installation was great. However it took seven weeks to get the paperwork. This would have been fine if only the company had responded to my calls and emails. We were offered vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. However after chasing them up three times they never materialised nor did a site visit to fix the app. Unfortunately I lost my cool for which I apologise. Such a shame after a great start. More...
