I love people. This translate into going the extra mile with my customers. Whether sitting with them at the hospital while handcuffed to the bed, taking a call from a distraught father at the site of his son's suicide, connecting people for a job, or helping someone find supportive housing (that took 3 years), I do what it takes to the best of my abilities and resources.

I love and enjoy reading all of Dr.Lake's articles and all the great advice I can find on this site. Dr. Lake is a master at saying it like it is in the most incredibly human way possible. He has been a great source of help to me over and over again. So I'd like to say thank you to him for all of his caring and hard work.

I have contacted Eric a few months ago, as I was going through a break-up with my wife. I was feeling pretty rough and didn't know what to expect. Eric encouraged me to look into both how I felt about myself along with my marriage.
The work we did together over our sessions had a tremendous impact in every area of my life. The process led to be more confident, understand my needs without feeling guilty, and start to set loving boundaries. I stopped the old habit of people-pleasing and started to feel really good about myself.
Because of this transformation I have changed my job, and most importantly-- I could begin to have a different kind of conversation with my wife that lead us to be back together! I have transformed the relationship I have with myself, I enjoy the man I am, and I don't pretend to be someone else.
It was very easy to work with Eric, and having him supporting and guiding me has made a great impact. He is genuine, generous, kind and keen to share his own experiences. I am deeply grateful for his insights and help.

I recommend! I wasn't sure how I felt about therapy, so tried just a half hour session with Kristin cause didn't want to fully commit. She made me feel comfortable and after only half hour I started noticing now I could improve my relationship and my life. I've now been for 4 more full sessions and feel more confident than I have in years! the people in my life have started to notice something has changed!

Offices for in-person counselling located in Port Moody & Hope. Team of 4 counsellors offering in-person and online services. Individual, couples/family & groups Team includes both female and male counsellors.
I love helping people. I like helping people to understand what is going on between their brain and their heart.
I'm very independent and creative. These are great qualities but not necessarily great qualities as an employee. I'm always thinking of new ways to do things, to improve systems and processes. By running my own business I am free to do just that.
I'm easy to talk to and connect with. I believe it is important for clients to connect with their counsellor and I encourage people to let me know if I'm not the right fit for them. If I'm not the right person to help you, I would like to help you find the right person.
I can provide online counselling. In the rare case where the internet isn't strong enough, we can do a phone session.
When doing in-person sessions we sit really far apart. At least 6 ft, more often closer to 8 ft. When we meet at the door we wear masks. But once we are seated and distanced we take the masks off if the client is comfortable doing so. I also put a blanket down on the sofa and change it between each client to ensure everyone has a clean sitting area.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
What should I look for when booking a Counselling session?
You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.
Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
What issues can a Counsellor help with?
Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.
Physical health conditions such as infertility.
Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.
Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.
Sexual identity issues.
Divorce.
Redundancy and work issues.
Phobias and fears.
Can I get a Counselling Service online?
Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
