When asked why I became a photographer, I often don't know quite where to begin. I became a photographer because I see beauty in the people, places and things around me, every day. I became a photographer because I love to collaborate and connect with others. I became a photographer because I consider it a privilege to share in and capture the most important stories of my clients.
My work, as is the case with many photographers, began as a creative outlet. I came from a creative family and recall with great pleasure my father's endless slide shows, featuring his own photography. I was mesmerized by how he could effortlessly capture the best memories of my youth. As an adult, I initially pursued a customer service focused career but realized that I, too, had a gift for photography.
As I began to learn the trade, I realized that I'd found my calling and, for the past 20+ years have worked diligently to expand and improve my capabilities. Recently, I completed my Professional Photographers of America certification, which puts me in the top 10% of photographers in the state of Oregon in terms of technical and artistic capabilities.
My areas of specialization include: high school senior portraits, head shots, family portraits and commercial photography.
