Hi there! I'm Melissa, owner and certified event planner of MK Events based in the Canton, OH area. I work a little differently than other planners. Many of them offer a "one-size-fits-all" package deal, and it's normally on a tiered system. I don't operate that way. There are two reasons why: First, you end up doing this game of back and forth about the things you need and the ones you don't. Or you get a package and realize you didn't need some of the services offered. Two, I create custom work, tailored to tell the story of each of my unique clients. No story is the same, and their event shouldn't be a copy/paste scenario you see elsewhere. My process goes like this: I have you fill out your inquiry form (or rather, your "Wish List") on my website at mkevents.online/inquire. It gives me insight on the scope of work for your event, what you want to include, and your budget. After that, we'll set up a 30-minute meeting or phone call to discuss the needs of your event. I'll listen to everything about your vision for this event and we'll clarify what your goals are. During the call, I'll give you advice on your best course of action for your budget, talk a little bit about the design I see, and see if that matches what you're looking for! There are so many things I love about my job.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my own business when I realized all of my talents could be used to help people celebrate the things that matter most: love, laughter, and life!

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Absolutely! If my clients prefer mostly online or remote meetings, I can accommodate as much as possible. Some meetings (such as tastings for food or design meetings that require touch) are best done in person. You'll have plenty of notice before them!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

If my clients prefer to keep everything as virtual as possible for safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I'm happy to accommodate! We can do regular phone calls, Zoom/FaceTime meetings, texts, and emails for a lot of the event planning.

For the meetings that require in person attendance, I'll always have my mask and sanitizer handy and keep my distance to keep you and your loved ones safe.
