Riverside Holistic Massage

‘19 Certificate of Excellence

My name is Mary Kinlen and I am dedicated to promoting better health and wellbeing through aromatic massage therapy. CREDENTIALS: My journey into becoming a holistic practitioner began in 1969, when I gave massages to friends and saw how it affected their spirit, emotions, thinking and physical bodies. In 1979 alternative therapies healed me when modern medicine couldn't, so I began studying alternative therapies of all kinds, finally choosing therapeutic massage using aromatic essential oil-infused massage oils and creams, energy therapy and cupping. In 2007, I was professionally trained at the Indiana Therapeutic Massage School; then licensed. In 2012, I was board-certified with the California Massage Therapy Council (CMTC #33038) to the present day. In 1993, I was trained in Healing Touch Biofield Energy Therapy by Janet Mentgen, founder, having performed over 400 sessions. I also possess two college-university degrees ('88 and '06). SERVICES I AM PROFICIENT IN: SWEDISH MASSAGE: This form of massage not only FEELS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL to receive but did you know it actually benefits all 11 systems of your body (see Benefits of Massage at www.RiversideHolisticMassage)? Conditions I treat include but are not limited to stress of all kinds, lupus, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, injuries, liposuction, pain, respiratory, anxiety, depression, trauma, P.L.S., M.S., skin and eating disorders, palliative care, hospice and more. Massage isn't just good for your muscles, bones and skin. It's good for your internal organs, your cognition/mind, your emotional self, and your spirit. This is one of the biggest reasons I do this work: I get to witness the "before and after" results; it's like night and day! MEDICAL (DEEP TISSUE) MASSAGE: Conditions include but are not limited to "knots" (trigger points), and key anatomical and biomechanical factors such as shoulder impingement, posterior rotator cuff injury, bicipital tendinosis, epicondylitis, pronator teres syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, Plantar Fascitis, post-surgery procedures and other kinds of pain, supporting their doctors who treat these folks in any way I can. MEDICUPPING: This modality is used for weight loss, and detoxification from toxins of all kinds including pestcides, food additives, synthetic chemcials of all kinds including chemotherapy poisons, tobacco, cocaine, opioid and other drug addiction residues that can keep you craving the drug you're trying not to use, diet and air pollution, all of which can, at some point, turn off the part of your DNA that protects you from getting cancer; swelling from lipo suction and edema, weakened lymphatic systems, and more. Cupping gets rid of cellular metabolic waste that is a big part of the pain cycle. Cupping is used at the Olympics to relieve pain (remember all of your circles on swimmer Michael Phelps?). HEALING TOUCH BIOFIELD ENERGY THERAPY: Uses hands-on and energy-based techniques to balance and align the human energy field. HT is used for pain control, neck and back problems, anxiety reduction, skin problems, wound and fracture healing, P.M.S., A.L.S., M.S., HIV-AIDS, hypertension, heart and lung disease, pre and post surgical procedures, headaches/migraines, autoimmune disorders, eating disorders, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, rehabilitation, chronic fatigue syndrome, disease prevention, spiritual enhancement, emotional pain, depression, and more. ESSENTIAL OIL-INFUSED MASSAGE OILS, CREAMS, AND/OR SPRAYS: Employed in the above alternative modalities because they ENHANCE EFFECTIVENESS as well as that of most allopathic modern medical procedures you may be undertaking or recovering from, and most all alternative therapies. Unlike drugs, essential oils leave no residue in the body; rather, they enter your body, perform their task, and leave. An essential oil is a plant's first line of defense against bacteria, viruses, fungi, microbes, and predators. And because the same four nucleotides in human DNA are also found in plant DNA, they work in harmony with our systems and benefit not only our bodies but effect our mental and emotional state as well plus their aromas are truly amazing, same as you find in nature. THERAPY ROOM: There is beautiful music playing in the background which enhances the ability of the client to feel relaxed right away, in effect, quickly setting up the body's transition into a state of self-healing. What will put you at ease before you make your first appointment are the many additional testimonials you can read at my official site-- www.RiversideHolisticMassage.com, some of which date back 25 years. I've also worked with doctors, nurses, and psychotherapists as my clients and look forward to working with you too. I am blessed with this profession because I get to help take away people's pain resulting in a level of satisfaction. I hope as well that you will allow me the privilege of creating a custom blended, aromatic massage oil or cream to take home with you that will continue to benefit health and wellbeing. Take a look at our extensive glossary of essential oil-infused massage oils at both our Shop and by clicking on "More" at my website. I offer 395 products, mostly massage oils and creams I use on my clients. You may request an essential oil or blend of EOs for your session. Email me today at m•••••@••••.com or call (951) •••-•••• (quickest way to reach me) to schedule your massage and begin your own journety into the land of FEELING GOOD again! —Mary Kinlen, CMT, BA

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people, seeing the before and after difference, getting positive feedback which always adds meaning to my life, telling me I'm on the right track spiritually.

What inspired you to start your own business?

On a spiritual level, as we are spirits walking around in bodies, reading the New Testament twice in 1975 and wanting to heal people like Jesus did. Of course I can't do what He did but I always pray silently before beginning a session and have gotten GREAT results especially with Healing Touch Energy Therapy since 1993. Read the testimonials at my official website, www.RiversideHolisticMassage.com. By the way, I have never offered anything in exchange for a review like some websites do which is unethical; nor have I asked anyone to exaggerate, only to write sincerely FROM THE HEART.

Why should our clients choose you?

Because I'm honest, dedicating my life to helping people feel and get better, having worked hard for my skillset, seasoned, an artisan, and I never will do mass production sessions like at Massage Envy and other venues. Try them first; then come to me. Additionally, I sell what I use on my clients so all of my products have absolutely NO junk in them, that is, synthetic (toxic) chemicals, fragrances and fillers; rather, NATURE IN A BOTTLE is what you get...VERY beneficial for body, mind, emotions and spirit. Everything I do and sell is HOLISTIC, affecting you on all four levels. The aromas are AMAZING too!

Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.

Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.

Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.

Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.

Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.

Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.

Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.

Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.

Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.

Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.

Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.

Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.

There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.

  • Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.

  • Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.

  • Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.

You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.

Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
