Hear from
a professional

What do you love most about your job?

I love assisting professionals to create satisfying personal and professional lives. I am not just a business, career coach but also a fully qualified therapist. This is important as I find clients need support with professional goals as well as personal focus and motivation in order to perform well. Getting regular feedback that I've 'made a difference' makes it all worthwhile! I love to learn and add to my 'toolkit' of skills, referral contacts, experience and training. A professional level of supervision ensures I provide a quality service.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I love meeting and helping others. Originally, I come from an operations management, HR, business background. I identified that many professionals needed much more than a 'once over lightly' presentation or goal setting session. This included isolated managers and CEOs who had lost confidence, or were experiencing challenging personal or relationship situations including anxiety, burnout, sometimes boredom! So I built a "Beyond Life Coaching" service where professionals could explore and address complex issues in a focused, tailored way. My service includes assisting people to manage their life/career direction, build confidence and self esteem, manage stress. Sometimes there are other issues including bullying, relationships, grief, illness, burnout or addiction. My work has led on to some other wonderful opportunities including writing "The Mentoring Handbook - a guide for mentors, proteges and organisations" which has been used for a number of national mentoring programmes and workshops. I have also been honoured to have been selected to work on major international events to mentor and coach managers.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am not just a business coach but also a fully qualified therapist so you get a more comprehensive service. I have areas of specific expertise (outlined below).
I am professional, ethical and have had a very high level of positive client feedback.
Common Questions and Answers
What kinds of people do you help?
I work with people and groups from a wide range of industries including retail, services, trades, SMEs, not for profit, elite sports, government and the arts. I also love to assist individuals create careers such as including school and university leavers, as well as those in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.

“I’m not sure what I need (but know I need some type of help). How do I even start?”
This is very common so don’t worry! Questions about our careers and life can go around in our heads for ages before we take action. Friends and family often may want to help but may not have the specific expertise or knowledge you need to take action. I offer clients a safe supportive ‘space’ to look at what’s practical, do-able and motivating.

It’s important that you relate to the person coaching you so I offer a free half hour appointment (no obligation) . In that meeting you will have the opportunity to discuss your needs and ask any questions you have about the service. You can either decide to work with me at the end of that session or take more time to consider or to look at other options. There's no judgement on that. If you have needs I can’t assist with, I am happy to refer you to other suitable services and contacts.

What’s your approach?
I offer a friendly, confidential service where clients can explore, workshop and strategise. My style is collaborative and open. Life can be very challenging so I aim to provide a safe unconditional space where clients can relax, understand themselves more deeply and feel confident to make positive changes. Clients often approach me for support to step outside their ‘comfort zone’, so I am mindful to allow time for reflection, exploration and research. At the same time I’m aware of the need to keep sessions focused – I’ll discuss key priorities and issues with you in a straightforward, supportive manner. Workplaces and social contexts are always changing so staying abreast of new trends and opportunities is crucial. The following ‘toolkit’ of skills and awareness are applied depending on the needs of the individual or group.

These include:
Narrative (storytelling)
Solution Focused Approaches
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Existential (meaning of life)
Knowledge of performance management, HR and employment law
Communication and negotiation skills coaching
Research methods
Presentation skills
Relationship management
Facilitation and group training skills
Identifying key drivers and motivators
Key skills and competencies for future roles
Building profile including social media and networking strategies

If you would like other referral contacts I am happy to assist.
