This is such a hidden gem. Visited for a retreat and it's a fountain of amazing knowledge, a tranquil space and the perfect place to deepen practice for yourself with incredible classes. The shop and extras all just make it too. Will hope to return even if it's miles away for me!! More...

Great welcome: great range of classes and holistic treatments at the Centre. I'm delighted to practise there, both as teacher (TRE) and student (yoga, Pilates and wider Ayurvedic wellbeing). I've seen a big increase in my flexibility in just 6 months, see wonderful colours and I feel in good hands especially re my dodgy shoulder! More...

I had my first yoga session today at the centre with Anne-Marie. I really enjoyed it and was made to feel so welcome. The lunch afterwards was an added bonus giving everyone time for a chat and to get together with like minded people. I’ll definitely be going again.

This time last week I was getting ready for the Ayurvedic retreat at the centre. I was excited to learn more about the science of life. Worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with the Hatha flow yoga and the meditation sessions, I went decided to just do my best. I didn't need to be apprehensive. The weekend was lovely. I met some really nice, like minded people. We meditated, cooked, learnt the basics of ayurveda & our doshas. The yoga was varied and suited to all abilities. The centre is a warm inviting family home, where Anne-Marie & James welcome you in and encourage you on your personal journey. I hope to join the August retreat & put some of my learning into practice. Thanks again xx More...

After a recent back injury I started to attend James's pilates classes. Luckily for me I found a very knowledgeable , kind and caring instructor. He explains everything clearly and ensures everybody is practising safely, correcting your posture etc if necessary. I am now pain free for 99% of the time and it is wonderful. I feel safe and secure in my practice. Even my chiropractor is impressed with the progress I have made, long may it continue. This is a family run centre and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing is an idyllic place for people of any age, shape, size and ability to go and begin or expand their Yoga and Pilates journey. As a physiotherapist, I understand the importance of keeping your body in a good condition, but Anne-Marie and James go above and beyond to help each and every individual understand their body and find ways to improve their physical abilities. They take a holistic approach to their treatments and they have years of skills and experience which allow them to adapt their sessions to anyone. I would highly recommend their practice. More...

I can't speak too highly of Anne Marie and James. I began attending yoga sessions about three years ago As a beginner with a number of physical concerns, I wanted to develop a personal yoga practice with a spiritual dimension and the Centre provided exactly the support I needed. From a very basic start I have gradually improved to the point where I am confident to perform complicated poses and practice daily wherever I am. I am so grateful for the patience and encouragement of my experienced and dedicated teachers. Classes are small and everyone gets individual attention. The studio is a calm, peaceful, environment, and garden sessions in summer are wonderful. More...

I have been attending yoga classes at the Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing for about three years and cannot praise Anne-Marie and James enough. They are both super knowledgeable, incredibly experienced and attentive. The Centre is continually improving its range of activities and its appeal, which is fantastic. There are a variety of classes to suit all levels and I particularly appreciate James' flexibility in allowing class members to switch nights, if they are unable to make their regular class. This is very helpful to be as I work away from home lots. Thank you both and keep up the excellent and valuable work! More...

Tried numerous yoga classes in Yorkshire and The Centre for Wellbeing is the best by far! Always ask for James... What he doesn't know about Yoga isn't worth knowing. Yorkshire's very own Yoga master!

I 'discovered ' the Centre in summer 2015 and have attended several meditations and workshops there. The Centre is a beautiful tranquil haven on the outskirts of a busy town, easy access from all around. Both are very well trained and have a lot of knowledge at their fingertips in Pilates, Yoga, Massage and healthy life style. I've just come back from the most amazing yoga retreat in the Maldives, run by The Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing. The location couldn't have been more perfect, and it was a beautiful environment to wake up in everyday and practice yoga. For me, the whole retreat experience was a very welcome pause from the crazy pace of modern day life, leaving me renewed and inspired, and able to reconnect with myself. I found that the joint expertise of Anne-Marie and James meant that the twice daily sessions were wonderfully varied and balanced. More...
