Q&As

The people I teach, they inspire me and bring so much happiness, I love my little community of yogis, many of whom have become friends.

Some years ago I developed ME (also known as chronic fatigue syndrome). having always had an interest in yoga I began to research how my own practice could help in my recovery. Unlike other physical activity the right types of yoga had an extremely positive effect on my body and mind. In particular the more classic & restorative practices. This inspired me to train as a yoga instructor and I feel blessed to have had a life changing experience qualifying 2oohrYTT in India under the amazing guidance of Jeevmoksha Gurukul. I then went on to attain my Yin yoga teaching qualification with Arhanta yoga school, Madhya Pradesh, india.. And have since qualified 150hr meditation teacher along with a further 100hrs of continued professional development. I have experienced the difference yoga can have on health and well-being and hope that my experiences will help others to see their own inner and outer strength develop and grow.

I feel that I teach from the heart, yoga is a complete holistic approach, and having suffered ill health and injuries myself I am able to relate to my clients more , I enjoy the process and feel exceptionally lucky to call this my work, as a people person I am really engaged in the joy of the process, (the journey) and not the end goal of a pose (the destination). I have been told that this honest approach is real and human, bringing out a sense of enthusiasm in my students. There is a huge emphasis in my classes on pranayama (breath work) the practices are creative and offer more than just a physical experience. Being a qualified instructor doesn't mean my own journey has stopped, I continue to learn so much from my students who always inspire me, along with a keen interest to continue to learn from my own teachers. I enjoy being creative in my teaching style , wether that be a new mantra, mudras, perhaps a poem or a new way to get into a pose, you will discover something new to keep your enthusiasm for this beautiful practice and way of life.

You won't see me wearing the latest Lululemon gear, or teaching you to stand on your fingertips (no I can't do that) but you will feel tremendous benefits to your whole body, physically, mentally and emotionally. I'll get to know you, learn what your likes and dislikes are, and as our relationship grows together I'll discover what it is that will best serve you in your practice.

My classes are breath-centered and suitable for all. The content encompasses the principles of Yin and Yang, cultivating balance and harmony in both the body and mind. Drawing influence from both traditional Indian Hatha yoga principles and the eastern principles of Yin yoga, my classes include gentle flowing vinyasa, asana, pranayama, deep stretches and relaxation. The overall aim is to offer you a chance to create your own body-mind connection. The foundation of my practice combines the physical with an inner journey. By integrating body, breath, movement, and meditative awareness, I strive to promote an understanding of the inter-dependency of all these aspects in personal health and well-being.
