Good value for money coach trip and accommodation. Breakfast was a bit hectic mainly because all fifty of the coach party had to be at breakfast for 8 am so dining room was cramped with not much space to get around.

Please read FULL review! It will be a detailed experience of our stay!Honestly, it doesnt look like much on the outside. The car park wasnt badly sized but maybe in the future add a couple of spaces. Saying this, we have been there and theres always been a space :) Upon arrival, the check in staff member was friendly, welcoming and helped with anything we had to ask. The reception is very nice although I would place a sign saying reception with an arrow as I got quite confused personally on which entrance led to the reception. The reception overall was very clean and very modern looking.Finding the room, was easy enough and inside there are plenty of signs leading to each section. So it was very clearly understood. I like the fact you get a key and not one of those electric cards as at least that way, it doesnt get swiped if by your bank card or phone. Very good!Upon entering the room, very clean and neat. Was just very standard but had been left tidy, room was a fair size for the 2 of us (myself and husband) and the bathroom again was clean and tidy! The windows we found when closed, couldnt hear any cars outside which forage me is perfect. The TV has a variety of channels. We stayed in room 406 for if anyone was interested. The price is reasonable! Which for what we were in Halifax for, was fantastic! The time we stayed (although may have different options upon different weeks) was a full English. Or you could personally choose which of the items from the breakfast you wanted. There was also the coffee, teas, cereals, fruit...ect which I found was really nice! The only down side to our stay was the beds. They could be a little bit longer as I'm 5 ft 7 and my husband is 5 ft 10 and we both could reach the end of the bed and the mattress appeared thin as in could feel the bed base through the mattress. Apart from that, the stay was just perfect! More...

Polite and helpful staff at reception, helped us with parking when car park was full. Was only expecting a small room and what we had was more like an apartment. Room 7 has a lounge area, decent tv, bathroom with bath and bedroom equipped with everything including hairdryer near mirror. Loads of mirrors, room and windows that opened. Warm and cosy. Really happy with our overnight stay, highly recommend. Thank you!! More...

The Wool Merchant is in a good location for peace and quiet and proximity to the Piece Hall and town centre. They offer free parking which was a nice benefit. I think the services could be a bit better. I booked a room with a king bed and was given a twin. The fire alarm went off several times over the 2 days, which was not only annoying, but a member of staff entered our room to check if we had caused it and was more suspicious than apologetic for the nuisance. This made us feel as though we couldnt relax. The owners should check their listing on this website as it claims they offer free breakfast but they actually apply a surcharge. More...

Really good location. Free car park just check the car in at reception upon arrival because car park is monitored by another company via APR camera so you have approx 15 mins to enter your reg into the system. Check in straight forward.Booked one night BB and evening meal was not disappointed. The room and double bed was clean. Small kettle tea, coffee cups etc. Hair dryer, flat screen TV on wall. Ensuite with bath/shower and toilet. Looks like this hotel as had a refurb. The evening meal in restaurant had a nice setting with lit candles on tables gave it a nice touch and the food was good value with a decent menu, plus a few drinks at the bar afterwards . Breakfast self service in downstairs restaurant and again looked quite new. Plenty of choice. The location a 10min walk into the town. In all good hotel and well worth a visit. I will come back in the future. More...

Stayed here at the weekend with my partner. Booked to stay here very last minute as a spontaneous night away to see a band which was playing in Halifax. The hotel cost us less than £40 which was so cheap that we was a bit apprehensive! ||Arrived at the hotel around 7:30pm as we had travelled straight from work. As we checked in late there was no space in the hotel car park so we had to park in the car park straight across the road (1 min walk to the hotel). The car park only cost us £1 for the day as it was a Saturday which was amazing! ||Check in was so quick and easy, we was offered 2 complimentary drinks in the bar (which we didn’t have time to have unfortunately but it was a nice touch). The room looked like it had been recently decorated and the carpet was new. The bathroom did need updating however it was clean and did the job. The room was clean however the bin hadn’t been emptied from the last people that had stayed in the room - never come across that before however it wasn’t an issue. ||||Wasn’t in the room long as we was going straight out, was only a 7 min walk into the centre which was so handy! In the morning the check out was so easy.||||Would stay again and would recommend !!! More...

We were on a deal & for this we give 5*||||Welcomed by a friendly receptionist * given room 401.||The room was 3 single bedded, it was clean lovely & bright comfy beds but bland, I was told that the rooms on the 4 th floor were next on refurbishment. I popped into 4 to 5 rooms on the lower floors & all looked very nice.||The en- suite was good but spoiled by bad finishing.Towels were excellent.||We had dinner there & we enjoyed it, breakfast was very good with all you needed.||The hotel is in a industrial area but is in a very open area & quiet, the best thing is that is so close to Piece Hall & Twin Centre.||I would have given 5* but for a few niggles, in the en suite the tiles are about 6 ft high & the top was very dirty & hadn't been touched for months, The evening meal was enjoyable but slightly over cooked, the bacon at breakfast was also overdone, I like it that way but others wouldn't.||||In summary very enjoyable stay, recommended & I would even stay in room 401 as it is. ||All the staff were very friendly. Stayed here for two nights. After we were checked in we were given a glass of chilled white wine, lovely touch. The lady who checked us in was helpful, friendly and professional as was the lady who was on duty that evening and served us our evening meal. The food in the restaurant was good (only had a main but they were both good ) as was the selection at breakfast. Our room was clean and larger than I expected. Every member of staff we met was professional and helpful, either with local places to see or directions to get to shibden hall. Will certainly be back and can't understand the negative comments, such a shame for staff who work so hard to have to read or put up with such negativity. More...
