Oh my, where to start! Francia has so much patience, she has a wonderful hands on way of teaching that makes you feel you can do it all, even if you can’t! ! I’ve made trousers and a Roman blind, each a first for me. I love my lessons and really look forward to them. Francia has been an outstanding teacher for our international women's group. She was great in communicating and arranging the workshop and was able to hold a safe, fun and enabling athmosphere in which both women with no skills at all and those with previous experience were able to improve their sewing skills. We highly recommend her.

Francia has a lovely welcoming and friendly approach to delivering informative and fun sewing classes. I was recently privileged to join one of Francia's sewing classes, and from the outset she provided not only a good baseline on the basics of sewing, including how to take accurate measurements and read a pattern etc, but she shared handy tips and advanced knowledge to help students complete their garment to a higher standard. The class I was involved in was very relaxed, with all student's working at a pace comfortable for them, and there was always constant supervision and support from Francia. The skills and knowledge I learned from being part of the class has allowed me to feel more confident to take on further sewing projects. I have been gifted my mother's 50 year old Bernina sewing machine. One session with Francia and could understand all its functions, how to maintain the machine, basic use, creating invisible hems and how to make button holes. I found Francia at the sewing cafe extremely easy to work with. She really went out of her away to accommodate our needs in the group that I run and made everything very possible and doable. She has a lovely manner and showed a lot of personal interest in the individuals in the group, motivating them and making sure everyone was attended to and achieved something. We were mostly beginners or had little experience of sewing before she came, but she managed to inspire us into enjoying sewing and using a machine which came as a surprise to many of us!
We have really enjoyed her time with us and the feeling of achievement produced by making something ourselves has given us!

The sewing course was brilliant. I feel so lucky to attend this course. The teacher was fantastically attentive. Pace was just right. It was filled with instructions,demo,practice.
