My friend and I visited today for lunch, my friend is Vegan and was offered a good selection of meal choices, she had 3 courses all of which were beautifully presented, Really tasty and filling, she is an amazing cook and she couldn't fault a single thing. ||I choose from the festive menu and was not disappointed, I've never had courgettes with my Turkey before but it went so well, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, ||Despite how busy they were, we were well looked after and the staff were all professional and friendly, they looked happy to be there, which makes such a difference.||We met Simon the chef and were able to compliment him on his excellent food.||Many thanks to the team x More...

I can hardly fault the one night I had at this hotel. The location is right on the coast road so great views from my room at the front of the hotel. It is far enough outside of Clacton to be a peaceful but great for a walk along the coast.||My room was large enough, well equipped and very clean, as was the bathroom. The bar is good and the car park plenty big enough. If I had to fault anything it would be the slightly casual approach of the staff, but perhaps that was just Essex culture. Visited today for lunch menu choice was excellent. I had the Cajun whitebait which was really tasty and not too spicy followed by the Sea Bass fillets with noodles again the sauce which was really tasty with ginger and coriander and chilli, with sugar snap peas and oak choi. All pur meals four of us had lunch and we were all satisfied with the quantity of the food and the service too.||Great atmosphere and it has been nicely decorated for Christmas too with a lovely real tree by the fireplace which looks stunning. I have attended a few afternoon teas in other places including The Criterion Restaurant Piccadilly Circus and your Hotel far exceeded any other. My partner and I had a short stay at this hotel recently and was extremely impressed with the quality of just about everything! The staff were not only highly efficient but we’re very down to earth, and seemed genuinely happy to be of service. Our room was immaculate and very spacious with stunning views of the seafront. (And not to mention the amazingly comfy bed) The food was exquisite through out, from the delicious and perfectly presented breakfasts, through to lunch and also evening meals! Between us we couldn’t fault a single thing. Thank you ever so much to the whole team, for making our little weekend away such a loving and enjoyable experience throughout our entire stay. I was told by colleagues at work how improved The Kingscliff Hotel's food is. My daughter and I had a day off from work and decided to go for lunch. Loved it. Initially has problems with TV remote but Receptionist sorted. Unfortunately was awoken at 4:22am through a metallic banging like plumbing work. Did disturb our sleep. We have been dining here twice a week for the past six months and I feel quite ashamed that I haven't taken the time to let others into the secret :In terms of the quality of the food, the level of service or sheer value for money this executive-level venue is easily the finest place to partake in afternoon tea, have a drink with friends or especially enjoy an evening meal. The kingscilff went off the radar I felt being a local and a regular customer over the years .. Over the last 6 -9 months I can honestly say it's got its spark back . Always seems to be busy . In the bar , the restaurant outside on the patio . The food is on point well presented. The staff on every level are great . It is a just a lovely friendly hotel restaurant bar whatever you want to call it .. Well done to all involved. The Staff at the Kingscliff Hotel are so welcoming, professional and exceptional from our first step in the door. We were greeted warmly and efficiently from reception and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a seaview room for our 2 night stay. This room was superb!! Clean, Modern Décor, Comfortable Bed and plenty of added extras to make our stay even more enjoyable. We were recommended to dine in the restaurant that evening and it was the best decision we made that day! Delicious Food, Great Service and the perfect setting. Me and my Husband had our wedding at the Kingscliff at the start of November and had a magical day. I want to say a massive thank you to all staff from the day, but especially our wedding planner Rebecca, who through the whole planning process was so attentive and friendly. We managed to get our wedding photos outside, which was perfect against the seascape and sunset, and was also allowed sparklers in the garden area towards the end of the evening. My partner and I had been visiting friends in Essex and having never been to Clacton-on-Sea I thought it would be an interesting experience! After an afternoon of the British seaside in October we decided to try out the Kingscliff on a recommendation, I had never heard of it. To our delight we were greeted by friendly staff and shown a great menu and in beautiful restaurant in an idyllic setting by the sea. After a gorgeous meal and fantastic service we even got to meet the manager so we could give our compliments to feedback to the staff. My only regret is that we didn’t spend the night as the views really are amazing and we will definitely be back to spend the weekend in this charming yet modern hotel and restaurant! My friends and I popped along last night for a birthday meal, we were looking to try somewhere new without traveling and we were not disappointed. ||The food was amazing! A few of us had the lamb shank! Just stunning! A couple of pies were ordered - which got thumbs up and my veggie friends were spoilt for choice menu wise, so they were very pleased!!||||The service here is really genuine and refreshing especially after visiting other restaurants where (due to the high pressured nature of the job role which I understand) we are sometimes made to feel like an aggravation- but this is certainly not the case at the Kings Cliff! Upon arrival you are made to feel welcome by the staff greeting you- I had made a mistake and only booked for 6 but actually 7 of us were coming- this was no problem at all, the staff were happy to move another chair to our table and laid it so I didn’t look guilty! Haha any other restaurant would have made a real fuss about this- so it we just found it so lovely that they were so accommodating.||||Further to this, the kitchen only had one pie ready, so the waiter came out to tell us they were making more pies fresh and it would take 20 minutes and to apologise for the wait. We found this very thoughtful, and they arranged for all of the meals to come at the same time. Other restaurants probably wouldn’t have told you about the wait or would have brought the meals out at separate times. We asked for some bread for the table to keep our tummy’s from rumbling, again the staff went above and beyond and brought out bread, olives, sun blushed tomatoes and pork crackling - the waiter advised that the chef wanted to apologise for the wait and wanted to send some extra bits - again we thought this was so very thoughtful! (And at no extra cost I might add).||||They even brought out an additional birthday pudding with happy birthday written on the dish (without being asked) to make me feel special for my birthday! What a lovely touch to an already lovely evening. ||||And to finish it off they didn’t mind when we annoyingly each paid separately.||||I would highly recommend- the decor is lovely, food amazing, staff are so welcoming and it all made for a perfect evening! I run a walking group in Holland on Sea & we went into the Kingscliff on Tuesday for our coffee stop some had to sit outside as they had their dog. coffee & tea well presented & reasonably priced & served with a smile. There is a card you can get stamped & on your 6th visit you get a free cuppa. Clean, well equipped rooms ( apart from the fan in the bedroom which wasn't even worth turning on) the bed was super comfy and the bar was well stocked. Unfortunately the night we stayed was a warm night so we needed to keep the bedroom windows open, this would of been fine except there was a wedding reception being held in the suite directly below us so we had no choice to listen to their music until quite late, so much for a romantic early night! Had the event not been on I would have rated this hotel 5 stars but I do feel we should have been forewarned when we booked that there was an event on, maybe this is something they could address moving forward? Restaurant had undergone a refit since my last visit some 10 years ago and much has changed. Be back twice now and on both occasions had a fantastic time. Decor is really welcoming and would suit all patrons from business people to holiday guests.
