We used the garland for my daughter 4th birthday today. Cannot thank them enough for letting us having it there. The back room has so much room and it freshly decorated. We had a wonderful time. Excellent pub, tremendous staff, friendly locals, great atmosphere and good prices. Some pubs in Bodmin like anywhere are a bit hit and miss- this is very much a hit.

30 years ago on a wild stormy night, I stepped into this pub with a friend to ask directions and honest to god it was like entering The Slaughtered Lamb. .. "Ye'll be wannin' to get to the bar then will ye's " said the fella at the bar. Nobody moved; we didn't stay long... It looked boarded up when I passed again some years later but I'm glad to see you're still open. I imagine the management has changed since back then, perhaps even the regulars? but then again maybe not. Still, I do recommend the Garland Ox to anyone who might be passing through if only for the 'authentic' Bodmin experience, along with sage advice of course "Stick to the roads..." More...
