When we walked our room they had put a dog blanket, 2 dog bowls with treats and essentials oils for our dog - wat a great/thoughtful thing to do - great room as well… five stars

It seemed quiet but service was slow and we seemed to be forgotten about. Most of our table ordered roasts and they were nothing special. The beef was tough and just fatty, no flavour. There was hardly any veg and one pot of cauliflower cheese between 3 people isn’t right when you’re paying £18 per meal! Plus I think the chef had forgotten to put any cheese in the cauliflower cheese, it was just cauliflower and flour by the taste of it. Beautiful pub and very friendly staff..popped in at the last minute for a drink and we were made to feel very welcome.. Lovely atmosphere and the saffron Gin was amazing!

We have just had a weeks stay.Generally good. Some great staff ( Charlotte & David). Food was very good. Would have liked 2 chairs in the Indulgence room as there was 2 of us & a bigger wardrobe. It's ok for 1 or 2 nights but not big enough for a week. Towels & bedding great. Disappointed to be told when we arrived that there were no daily papers as advertised on their site & the advertised Queen tribute night was cancelled. Really need to update the website. One of busy places in Romsey, female service always very helpful and open-minded. Food great and in love with outside atmosphere and bar lady, Unfortunately yesterday visit did bring a lot confusion about service there. Gentlemen were a bit slow reply with friends and family: I’m not sure that gentleman in long hair and short trousers got English sense of humour, mixed feelings came across also with a blonde hair gentleman as he mixed drinks order and didn’t bring Romsey one I have ordered on time. Quiet evening yet service was slow and inattentive. Unavailable options, whilst understandable at the moment, could have been mentioned before some of us had chosen to order these from an already limited menu-both mains and desserts. Beautiful pub, however we waited nearly an hour for our food and the pub was almost empty. 4 of the dishes on the menu weren't available due to delivery issues so we were quite limited for choice.
