The function room itself is a good size and the team, led by Jane, are really flexible in helping to arrange the decor and layout to ensure all your needs are catered for. We had a live band and the dedicated space at one end of the room is perfect. We also had a ‘Magic Mirror’ set up and there was plenty of space for all their gear as well as tables and the catering arrangements. First time here, Saturday night so busy but drank in the lounge bar with friends and had a great evening. Nice atmosphere, greeted by friendly door men, bar staff very attentive dispite how busy it was, prices on par with most places ££. Cannot comment on the restaurant but the lounge bar did thin out eventually as people went off to eat. Parking is a challenge, carpark was full at 20:00 as was the side streets, obviously location is the issue being in such a popular area. More...

Was there today for a meal with family and to see the Xmas lights switch on in the royal parade with all the lovely stalls . ... had a lovely chicken roast dinner with all the trimmings was one of the nicest roasts I’ve eaten out in a long time highly recommended plus the staff & service was excellent will most definitely return lovely place for food ... merry xmas to all the staff at the bull ❤️ More...

Female lone traveller and felt very safe. I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms - I wouldn't have wanted to stay in any other. Parking is fine and the hotel has three atmospheres. A lovely restaurant (gastropub type) with great beasts and two more 'pubby' areas. The outside looked good but it wasn't warm when I visited. Looks as though they have live bands in the garden. Young staff act well as a team under pressure on a busy Saturday night. Despite some customers pushing forward to be served I noticed how the staff ( one in particular young man with glasses was very aware of who was still waiting . ..and who's turn it really was to be served and didn't allow others to steer him aware from who's turn it was.) ...a very attentive bartender! Bar staf could be more attentive to the customers than the football on the TV. The restaurant staff are excellent. Food was nice, alcohol prices are expensive but that goes with the area

We also had a ‘Magic Mirror’ set up and there was plenty of space for all their gear as well as tables and the catering arrangements.||We selected from their buffet options and the c.70 party goers gave us really good feedback about the food.||The other thing I really liked was the number of bar staff that had been laid on to service the dedicated bar, which meant no-one waited any time really to get served. ||Oh and there is a security guard laid on to stop any regulars gate crashing the party (not that it’s that sort of bar/hotel).||All in all the party worked perfectly.||One tip - if you have people travelling a distance to attend your function and plan to book one of the rooms in the hotel, please be advised to book early to avoid disappointment as the Bulls Head is a popular venue for functions.
