We used Marc to obtain a full building survey in relation to purchasing a Victorian house that we knew there would be some repairs needed to. Our booking was made almost instantly and the report followed very quickly afterwards. It was the example report that made me choose the company and our report more than lived up to expectations. Everything was clearly detailed with a good number of photos to illustrate the observations and helpful estimates on pricing. Surveying Services
Our general building surveying services include defect diagnosis such as investigating damp problems, cracks or other issues that may already be causing problems in a property as well as advice on any remedial work required to address the issues.
We also offer maintenance advice to try to prevent issues arising in the first place, from helping develop a plan of works to be carried out, to identifying potential future problems.
For complete building projects we offer project supervision and management, including site monitoring, dealing with local authorities and trades.
Party Wall Award Handling
If you are planning a building project that involves work to a shared structure, such as a party wall, chimney breast etc, or are planning to excavate within 6 meters of a neighbour’s property then you will likely need to notify your neighbours. This must happen prior to starting the work.
Your neighbour can then either give you permission to proceed or if not, a surveyor will need to be appointed to act on each person’s behalf to obtain a Party Wall Award. Our services include handling the notices and/or acting on behalf of you if obtaining a party wall award becomes necessary.
Conversely, should you be notified by a neighbour or their representatives of their intention to undertake works then we would be pleased to act on your behalf.
We can charge by the hour for minor work or quote per award, depending on the specific project and circumstances.
Buildings Insurance Claims Consultancy
Dealing with insurance companies in connection with a building’s insurance claim, e.g. water damage, flooding or fire, can be stressful. We can offer advice with the reinstatement and help manage the claims process, liaising directly with the insurance company on your behalf and ensuring your interests are represented. With many years’ experience in the loss adjusting industry we understand the processes.
