The best big band in the land, absolutely no doubt! The Syd Lawrance Orchestra has been swinging now for over 50 years and is sounding absolutely fantastic. Bursting with young phenomenal talent this band is well up there with the likes of Miller and Heath and the other famous bands. Superb musicianship with excellent section work the band is led by Chris Dean who I understand has been leading the band longer than Syd himself. Huge thanks must go to Chris and his team for keeping British Big Bands alive in such amazing style. The gig at Peterborough this year was really fantastic, the band played a superb book, a really thrilling evening and I’m very much looking forward to the next visit by the band. More...
