It's so great to have found a club that teaches these skills. As a parent I find I want to avoid tech/screens/YouTube for my kids, but this feels like a safe space to explore it, and all it has to offer in an appropriate and fun way. My son attended the Youtube Creators Club for a 12 week course. Each week he left with a huge smile and was always excited to tell me what he had learned or done in that week's session. The staff were both professional and polite, and were quick to inform me of any unavoidable changes to the schedule. Martin and Karl provided excellent resources for all my class to create a script, think about shot size and angles as well as story boarding and lots of other creative ideas. They were very supportive throughout the process. The children learned loads through the process and were all very excited and engaged. Karl and Martin spent time discussing their film ideas and a whole day was spent with each group , filming and editing their short films . National Independent Visitor Network hosted by Barnardo’s, partnered with Silverbox Films and cartoonist James Parsons, to work with a group of young people in care, to produce an animated short campaign film to raise awareness of the Independent Visitor (befriending) role.
