Great grounds to walk about in, some amazing trees, a maze, nice sculptures, nice flowers at all times of year. Nice friendly staff who go over and above what they need to. Then relax in the tearoom or on a hot sunny day outside at one of the tables. If you're a photographer of any sort there are so many great shots to be taken. More...

The grounds are interesting and full of little surprises, my daughter loved the very vocal peacocks. The palace is beautiful but a bit restricted and no photography allowed which spoiled it a little.

Scone Palace was my favorite castle in Scotland, and I saw a lot of castles. Constructed in the 12th century, it is famous as the place where they crowned the King of Scots. As we came in the Winter off-season we didn't have the opportunity to go inside since they weren't giving tours. Even with that fact, it was still so scenic and so magical that it was still worth the stop. I guess since it was free admission to just walk around that is okay too! After a hazy, rainy morning the skies opened up and a rainbow appeared over the castle. We couldn't believe our eyes the sight of this beauty. The photo I took doesn't even begin to do it justice. The grounds were pristine and we loved seeing the highland cattle with their long mops of hair covering their eyes. I would love to come back when I can actually see the interior as I'm sure it'd be beautiful as well. More...

Just visited the Palace grounds with my 3 grandchildren and 3 dogs. Great fun to be had by all. Went inside for drinks and snacks. The catering staff could not have been any more helpful, as I was a bit harassed, trying to stop my gang from being over excited! We’ll definitely be back. More...

During this time we were allowed in the kitchen garden for refreshments which was very welcomed by us. We talked with so many other lovely visitors and lovely staff. Scone Palace was a surprising stop. My husband and I were driving through Perth and saw it on the map. We didn't expect it to be so well-maintained and beautiful. The house and grounds were immaculately managed. We had a grand time exploring the grounds, where their forest was in full bloom with flowers of all colors. The trees were gigantic. I've never seen so many species in one place. The cemetery was most intriguing. Some headstones were so ancient that they don't even have dates on them. Of course, it's neat to learn about the Stone of Scone. They have peacocks walking around everywhere, and it's fun to watch them. We had lunch here and it was impressive, compared to what I'm used to in the States. Their kitchen proudly offers fresh food made with local ingredients. My carrot and coriander soup was delicious, and so was my husband's Dunkeld smoked salmon salad. I highly recommend visiting Scone Palace! More...

The Gardens are imaculate, well arranged and care for. The Kitchen Garden is a must see and helpers are welcome. The staff are either very friendly or totally ignore you. The House is typical of an opened Stately Home, but like many others it is not run by Natioal Trust or Scottish Trust, so it's main aim is not the conservation of the House, but rather making cashfrom it so don't expect any normal prices. They don't even do free or reduced entry for Veterans. Makes me wonder why we bothered. More...

We got married at Scone Palace in 2006 and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Everything was arranged remotely in just a few weeks. They made everything easy and made us feel very special. From the welcome on the steps when we arrived, to the guided tour of the palace, to the private dinner in one of the rooms and the special, unexpected touches it was a magical, memorable day. If we had planned years in advance we couldn’t have found a more perfect venue for a small, secret wedding. Gorgeous location, fabulous photos and the food was amazing too! More...

We had a lovely day at Scone Palace yesterday. The grounds are beautiful, we took the Friar's Den walk route and really enjoyed the scenery from the kitchen garden, the pinetum to the maze (where I found out my hubby has no sense of direction! !) was a lovely autumnal day. We enjoyed looking around the palace and learning about the history of the family and Belle. We loved seeing the peacock and even caught one checking itself out in a car reflection! We rounded our trip off with a Scone at Scone out in the little courtyard which was a perfect ending to a perfect day More...

Our first visit to the Palace and grounds (not counting Run or Dye 5K fun run 2 years ago!). The staff were really friendly and very informative. The prices were reasonable. The interior of the palace was lovely. What caught my attention were the clocks! It's not often you go to castles etc and see these old clocks working. What lovely sounds they made. The grounds were stunning, well kept, and the Maze, well, where do I start! Although, it was good fun getting frustrated and confused for a half hour, but we made it out! The place was buzzing with visitors. Totally steeped in history, managed to read my guide book at night when I got home. Loads of info provided within the palace though. A fab day out with the family. Thank you. More...
