Friendly, responsive and great work

From the first Sam showed himself to be an enthusiastic and ethical gardener. He has an eye for detail and is honest and straightforward in his approach. He gave good advice as to how we should tackle our rather neglected garden and the work that he has to date on Phase 1 has been exactly as required. Recommended. More...

Landscaping

Sam is knowledgeable about re wilding and landscaping. He seeded a wild flower area, transported some old railway sleepers from the back garden to the front by going round the block and built a raised bed. I can’t recommend him too highly.

Landscaping

Sam and his team of Pablo and Andre worked really hard to transform my two directional sloping vegetable garden into some amazing flat terraces with Sleeper walls. As they worked the plan evolved to fit the terrain which was great. They then removed my old shed and shored up the bank behind the shed before erecting a new one. Once again they worked so hard and left the garden in amazing state. They were all very pleasant courteous men and I enjoyed having them around my garden. I am already recommending them to my friends More...

Sam from Red Phoenix not only knows his way around the garden, elements and tools, what most impressed me are his listening skills to my personal needs and wishes for my garden space and how he took this knowledge and aligned it to a workable space that allows me connect with nature more simply going forward. Cannot wait for spring and summer in which I'll be able to enjoy and explore the zen garden more regularly. I most definitely recommend Sams services and love that he blessed my garden also before packing up neatly once he finished his garden work. More...

Gardening

Sam is an absolute pleasure to do business with; warm and friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. He took time to really connect with my garden and listen to what I was wanting, and came up with some excellent ideas. He isn’t just about getting the garden looking tidy, he looks at it as an artist would; where does it need more light, what elements are needed (earth/water/wind/fire), where does it need to open up and where does it need seclusion, or more colour for example?

I wasn’t sure what to expect from his approach and so left him to it as we’d already agreed he’d have a good tidy up/mow/prune to begin with. But when I came home after he’d finished, whereas usually I’d think, yup, garden has been done, this time I felt like the garden had been cared for, a completely different energy, like it had been heard.

Sam isn’t just a gardener he loves nature and builds a relationship with your garden, and that is reflected in his work and the energy that that leaves behind.

Highly recommended 🙏

His many additional skills have included bringing ceremony to the start and completion of work done, expanding the blessing of all activities of past, present and future. Q&As

Connecting with people and connecting with the land. I love meeting new customers and I love bringing transformation to gardens and the land. I love facilitating connection for customers and their gardens - making them more wild, more connected, more joy!

I am happiest outside! I love working with my hands, serving customers, and transforming spaces. I am inspired to be a caretaker of this land and to support others to do the same. Running my own business gives me satisfaction and allows me to use my gifts with autonomy and pleasure!

I am trustworthy, a man of integrity, humility and good communication. I am clear, confident and friendly. I speak well and I am good with adults, children and pets! I bring a team who share the same values of integrity and service. We bring experience as well as an appetite for learning and improvement.

Some of the guidance and design work can be done remotely. The practical site work obviously not!

As we are outside 99% of the time, our work is COVID-safe and we are especially mindful if there are any at-risk customers.

Services

Consulting and advice about garden design and layout. 3D mapping tools available for larger jobs.

All design and advice has a focus on ecology, rewilding, conservation and nature connection - creating a more wild world!

We bring practical skills to transform a garden.

Arboriculture - pruning or reshaping of trees; felling trees and wood chipping; tree planting; hedge shaping.

Plants - clearing of monoculture and weeds; planting of species rich 'guilds' and wildflower meadows; vegetable gardens.

Wildlife - pond design and digging; live or dead hedge laying; creating and installing wildlife homes.

Carpentry - creating wood stores, potting sheds, fruit cages, compost bays; decking and fencing.

Each experience is a unique mix of outside activities. These may include a simple hike, where we pause to consider the plants and animals and their stories. We may expand this to breathing and meditation exercises, nature games, and ceremony infused with ecological awareness. Or simply share some silence and magical words in your garden.
