Radek E17 Furniture

The team from Radek (Radek Your Builder & Cleaner, and Radek E17 Furniture) undertook an extensive house refurbishment and bespoke kitchen and cabinetry. The quality of the completed work is truly exceptional, and the site-team were a pleasure to work with.

Some details of the project:

Rather than extend the property, we decided to do extensive internal remodelling to maximise the space, light and decor. Radek rewired the electrics from scratch, and installed entirely new plumbing throughout. Radek undertook the refurbishment and decoration of the whole of the ground floor, hall and landing plus the bathroom upstairs. (To optimise the spend we redecorated the bedrooms and attic ourselves.)

In building and home-improvement terms, it would probably be considered a relatively small job, but highly complex. We chose a lot of unusual materials, which made this a more challenging prospect than we had anticipated.

The heart of the design was the kitchen, and because we were on a tight budget we had assumed we would use Ikea cabinets with custom fronts. Witek (the man in charge) persuaded us to go for an entirely bespoke kitchen which E17 Furniture made to our custom specification. All of the cabinets are solid oak-faced plywood, with black Richlite counter-tops and brass detailing. The final result is amazing!

All electrical appliances supplied by the local Pee Jay on Hoe Street (exceptional service, delivery and fair price-matching throughout).

We had two internal walls moved as part of the scheme, and installed two large glass areas at the back of the house, which required new foundations and structural steelwork. The lead builder/structural guy, Zibi, was highly knowledgable and thorough, and the making-good (including the brick work) is also lovely. Radek also installed new ground-floor windows (the super-slim Origin 70 system, supplied by Enfield Windows), and new floor finishes throughout (including engineered wood, Terrazzo, and other ceramic tiles). They also supplied and installed a new staircase.

Aside from the beautiful craftsmanship on the kitchen, perhaps the most noticeable feature is the exceptionally high quality of finish of the overall decorating on the ground floor. The stark black-and-white painted wall colours we chose are unforgiving, and the plastering and paint finish is flawless.

We also researched and planned-in an elaborate lighting scheme which was executed to the highest standard by the electrician Jarek (who was on-site throughout the whole build and fit-out, and who we came to think of as part of the family by the end of the programme!). We had our kitchen knocked through and built by Radek and his team and we're thrilled with it. Excellent workmanship - would definitely recommend!

We recently had works carried out by the Radek team. - New bathroom vanity top & doors. - Custom shelving in the kitchen. - Custom drawers and shelving in wardrobe . Absolutely fantastic work from the guys. Witek and his team were great from start to finish. They were super helpful in helping advise on what we could have done and professional in every aspect of the project. Quick, diligent and tidy in the fitting. They really did a great job. They build all elements off-site in their workshop which is a great bonus, having only to come to the house to measure and to fit it meant minimal disturbances.
