I employed PJB to undertake our loft conversion in August 2019 after obtaining several quotes. Selected them as their knowledge appeared superior and their price was very competitive. They did a great job. They did exactly what we agreed - works completed on time and on budget. All staff which came knew what they were supposed to be doing when and just got on with it. We employed PJBS to carry out a Loft conversion, rear extension, garage conversion and front porch. We were very impressed with Paul and his team who worked well with us completing these major works on our property whilst we were still living there. From the day Paul first visited to quote to the final day of completion Paul was very good at meeting with us to go through our requirements, working to drawings and any changes we had during the project. PJ Builders recently completed our extension and I would happily recommend them to anyone. I was nervous about having such a large amount of work done but Paul and his team made the whole process easy and stress free. Paul was in regular contact and we knew what was happening at all times. He came up with a few additional suggestions along the way as well that improved our build. We always knew how much money we were paying out and when so remained on budget. Paul also kept to the original time scale of 10 weeks despite us adding in extra jobs. The quality of work is excellent, at the end of such a large job it's reasonable to expect to have a snagging list but we genuinely only had one thing to follow up on which was very quickly resolved. After meeting several builders getting quotes for a wall removal, we ultimately chose PJ builders for their sound knowledge and expert advice. We were not disappointed. They assisted us through every stage excellently, from the correct process with the local council to the final decorations after wall removal. They even managed to book us in a short notice to remove the wall whilst we were on holiday causing minimal chaos to our lives. The wall removal was for easier mobility for a wheelchair user, I must say we cannot be happier. The wall removal took a matter of days and they even managed to adjust the plans during the build to accommodate more sockets. Excellent throughout. We were absolutely delighted about the service we got from PJ Builders. They built a ground floor, wrap around extension for us onto a three bed 1930s semi in Leeds We had previously used them for some small jobs, but this was the first major build they had done for us. Paul came round to see me in July to discuss the above job. Very punctual and professional he had lots of ideas about how to get the best out of the space available. He put me in touch with an architect to get the plans drawn up and once they were done we agreed that the work would start at the end of August. Initially it was estimated by Paul that the work would take 5-6 weeks but it's difficult to predict exactly how long these things will take. Overall it took closer to 8 weeks but I'm extremely happy with the quality of the work. The builders were always friendly and respectful and it's obvious that Paul runs a tight ship. We received a firm quote and this was adhered to the only extra work that we required was done at a reasonable cost. This quote included clearing of all builders waste and rubbish which happened on a weekly basis and on completion all waste was cleared from site and area left tidy. They arrived on time and the fitter was on site each day to completion Monday - Friday. The work took one week longer than anticipated due to the shower construction which was more intense than originally planned for and no extra cost incurred. We were kept up to date each evening by the fitter prior to leaving, and what he wanted to achieve the following day. We found this approach extremely helpful as it allowed us to plan for the next day. The fitter was extremely polite and didn't use any bad language. PJ Builders just completed our double dormer loft extension, in time for Xmas(about 2 to 3 weeks earlier than expected!) and on budget, the only extra costs were things the building inspector or we added to the original quote. They started work before the first installment, helped us out with an architect and building control and made us feel like we were dealing with a reliable and professional company. Paddy and/or his son Wayne were always on site to answer questions. We were nervous going into our first building project, but cannot recommend PJ Builders enough. We've recently used PJ Builders to remove a structural wall between the Kitchen and Dining room and fit a new kitchen to create an open plan kitchen/diner. Paul was very helpful in offering guidance and ideas on what would work best prior to the work beginning, and his team were friendly, helpful and hard working throughout, completing the job in much less time than expected which helped to keep the inconvenience of having no kitchen to a minimum. Paul and his team were fantastic, and have gone above and beyond to help throughout the entire job. Paul was initially hired to convert the loft to a bedroom / en-suite, re-tile the roof and knock down the partition wall between our kitchen and dining room. This evolved into re-wiring / re-plumbing the whole house, plastering every room with new skirting, installing an en-suite and bathroom, and installation of a new kitchen. His team were fantastic, and we have had a number of people commenting on their work, from the bathroom installations to the excellent plastering which has been done throughout the entire property. They left everything tidy and were always happy to answer any questions we had about progress. Paul was always flexible and helped us with advise where ever he could, and has kindly offered to head back to the property following completion of the job to install a few bits which hadn’t been delivered in time. Paul and his team were great. They did an amazing job on everything, and completed a loft conversion, re-wire / re-plumbing of the house, en-suite / bathroom / kitchen installation and re plastering of the entire property. The loft conversion was fantastic and ended up being so much bigger than we initially imagined. He maximised all the space that was available, and was able to create a fantastic master bedroom at the top of our house. It is very spacious, and holds heat extremely well. We designed quite a larger window area along the south facing wall which now looks fantastic, and is thanks to the work of Paul and his team. We would be happy for them to do any future work. PJ Builders did an excellent job of removing my old kitchen, moving boiler down to the cellar, opening up our chimney to install a cooker, installing new kitchen, re-plastering entire room and ceiling and fitting new lights and sockets and new window. The workmen were all polite, friendly and professional and work was carried out to a high standard. Paddy kept in close contact throughout the project and had advice and solutions for the inevitable issues that arise when renovating a building of this age. Joinery work on the new kitchen was fantastic and the joiner designed and fitted a window sill from the spare pieces of worktop as well as designing, building and fitting a bespoke wall cabinet. This attention to detail and finish has meant that I have a kitchen that I'm really happy with.
