I have used services from Pia Building services
a few times now and find they do excellent work.
We have had them remodel 2 of the bathrooms in our house.
We are planning to have another bathroom remodeled, as they did an outstanding job with the first 2 bathroom. We will definitely be calling calling Pia Building services again.
We really enjoyed working with the project, the guys have always been on time, they are very tidy while they work, and very flexible when it came to making changes after the work had started. We have had a lot of bespoke aspects to both bathrooms, from tiles, granite and even glass/mirrors. Nothing was a problem.
I would highly recommend Pia Building services to anyone in need of remodeling work done, and would gladly use them again if I need any more remodeling done.

How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Permitted development can apply to any size garage conversion as long as your garage is less than four meters high and does not take up more than half the space of the land around your property.
And, for the garage to have been built in the first place, it would have to meet this criteria already
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
When converting a Garage, you will need to get in touch with your local Building Regulations Department. This will ensure that the work carried out is fully compliant with current building codes, work normally involves insulation of all external wall and roof space areas and depending on the age of the properties, roof ventilation and floor insulation may also be required. New electrical wiring for lighting and power points will be installed by a qualified electrician. And plumbing work carried out to plans. Garage door to be removed after majority of work is completed and brick wall to be constructed from ground to window sill height with new windows fitted and new door opening created. Wall and ceiling will be prepped for plasterboard for a skim finish. Lastly all final fixes of electrical and plumbing will be carried out and final inspection is done by Building Control to check the work carried out fully complied to NHBC regulation and sighed off.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
There needs to be at least 2.2m between the top of the floor joists and the bottom of the ridge timber. This is so that there is at least 2m of headroom once new floors and beams etc have been fitted. You should also consider the headroom throughout the majority of the room. This is what is deemed a comfortable height.

When converting a Loft, you will need to get in touch with your local Building Regulations Department.
10 Stage Conversion
Stage 1
Scaffolding is erected to provide independent access to the loft.
Stage 2
Structural beams are installed into party walls to form independent timber floor support and front roof elevation with dwarf wall.
Stage 3
If dormer conversion the structure is built. If non dormer loft conversion at this stage Velux windows are installed.
Stage 4 Complete roof tiling to both new dormer and front roof elevation.
Stage 5 Build interior patrician, doorways and ceilings.
Stage 6 First fix plumbing and electrics
Stage 7 Floor and wall insulation.
Stage 8 Create new access staircase between loft conversion and first floor.
Stage 9 Plasterboard throughout and finally finish with a plaster skim.
Stage 10 Final Fix Plumbing Electric
Final inspection is done by Building Control to check the work carried out fully complied to NHBC regulation and sighed off.
