Q&As

Whether is it making my own sculpture or fabricating metalworks for others, the process of creating something from a raw or stock material, and seeing it grow and evolve.

The magic of welding!

Achieving a high level finish

Being placed with an established metal artist when I was at university - I had paid work experience with him that taught me a lot about sculpture and metal fabrication. This changed my direction and led to starting my own practice as soon as I left University.

I have a very particular attention to detail and produce very neat metalwork.
When fabricating for others I use the same exacting standards as I would for my own work.

Fabrication cannot be delivered online, but project proposals and costing can, as well as concept design and simple CAD drawings.

I work alone so can easily work and keep distance from others. If a larger project requires more people I am strict on my polices to keep distance, wearing masks and washing hands.
I ensure distance is kept when accepting deliveries and am careful in my general life to follow guidelines.
I always carry a mask and hand gel.

Metal sculptor creating artworks for private and public spaces

I am an experienced MIG welder, with City & Guilds accreditation.
I have been MIG welding for 12 years, using my skills to fabricate a range of things from metal sculpture and theatre sets to gates, railings and bench work.
I am currently studying an EAL Lvl 2 Welding Engineering course which covers MIG, MMA, TIG and oxyfuel welding as well as oxyacetylene and plasma cutting. The course will lead to codings in these welding processes.

Use of oxyacetylene to flame cut steel. Cutting freehand profiles, artwork components and sculptures. Brazing uses the same process to join steel and other metals together. Joining metal components with silicon bronze.

I am experienced in running school and community projects that help young people deign and paint graffiti-style murals.
