For many people their only experience of counselling will have been on TV or at the movies but this is often a far cry from reality. We all have times when things are bothering us, when we feel stressful, anxious, when we've lost someone we're close to or when a relationship is not working out as we'd hoped and sometimes, most times in fact, we're able to rationalise things and get on with life perfectly well without counselling but for some people the hill is too steep to climb or the prospect of confronting their issues in the first place is just too daunting.

Sharon has helped me through so much i'm glad i met her i saw two counsellors before i had counselling with Sharon i thought whats the point in seeing someone new therapy doesn't work then i met Sharon her methods and ways are completely different she didn't put a book in front of me to work from and compare my emotions to those she worked with me i'm thankful and now think clearly use her methods in life to help me cope and get through situations on my own without having a breakdown i would highly recommend Sharon i can say i know its works for me.

I found the counselling to be very supportive and insightful and it is good to talk to someone who not only listens but understands. A very professional and personable approach where time was spent dealing with difficult personal issues at my pace using language I could relate to . Each session felt like something was achieved and a step towards my personal ownership and management of the issue. If I could describe Orchid as a best friend to share your deepest secrets with who then helps you get back on your feet and walks with you out to face the world again then this is what they are. Thank you for everything counsellor 'S' but mostly for being there. More...
What do you love most about your job?
I love a client finishing therapy having achieved the outcome that they want from the therapeutic relationship. The client finishing therapy with the tools to cope with their issues in the future. I enjoy having a therapeutic relationship with my clients so that they have trust in me to guide them to their goals.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Life events led to a career change to counselling. Having spent several years within the emergency services and working with the armed forces I understand the trauma these roles can have. A sound knowledge of adolescence having youth groups both in the church and community over the last 30 years. I have worked within the NHS IAPT, I am continuing this work in triage and brief therapy work in the private sector. My experience also includes having been involved in voluntary work within both adult and children’s hospices and I am CRUSE bereavement trained.
Why should our clients choose you?
I consider myself to be down to earth, and able to communicate at all levels. No psycho babble, but able to help my clients to understand what is going on for them, why and how to find a solution. My main focus is the client and their needs.
