MSC carpentry & construction Ltd. gave me a quote for my small extension job. I accepted the quote and paid the 50% deposit.
The agreed date of finish was in 3 weeks after the start. First week, no issue as it was outsourced. No work done in second week, but a demand for additional money came; to get drawings and building control approval”. Since then, MSC has done only 20% of the job at the most in 7 weeks. They did not apply for building control or get the drawings done. So, finally I did those things. The baffling news came when building control inspector visited the site and failed the foundation for multiple reasons. They put me in awkward situation; I will have to dismantle the work by someone. This is because MSC never answer calls or return your calls. The only thing they do is keep promising over the email/WhatsApp as an act of procrastination.
In short, MSC took 77% of the total amount for doing less than 20% of the work and that too failed to passed by building control.

Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Whats involved in a garage conversion?
First stages always start at a site visit to access what the homeowner already has in place, from that I will ask the customer what they want to use the newly converted garage for.
For example
-office?
-gym?
-Bedroom?
-Outhouse?
From that I will take measurements and work out how to insulate the garage for the best price without compromising the finished size of the garage.
Dose it need plastering or tape and jointing?
Dose it need a new roof?
Dose it need a garage door removed? or to cover it up?
Many different aspects determine the price including access.
How long have you been in business?
We was established in the later stages of 2016 and completed our first huge project of converting a garage into 2 separate 3 bedroom properties in 2018. We have been fitting kitchens, bathrooms, refurbishments ever since.
Its a family run business with 4 - 15 Employees and growing.
What guarantee does your work come with?
In regards to garuntees it mainly depends on the nature of the project and this can vary depending on different factors.
Either way we garuntee all our works and the amount will be decided depending on the project.

I personally love running this business because everyday meet new people, I help people extend their homes, transform rooms or even fix problems.
I have a trusted team and as a family run business we care about everything and everyone.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We started the business because we are all mainly tradesman covering all aspect of building, we worked for other people/ companys large and small and decided we was ready to do it for ourselves. We care about every project from start to finish and enjoy working together and building a company from scratch.

We can provide quotations via emails, pictures, WhatsApp, Architects plans etc, but it is impossible to complete the building works remotely.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have provided masks and extra pipe to the tradesman.
We try to keep 1 trade on site at a time rather than having too many people in your home at one time.
We seal off the rest of the house (if we can) to create a separate working enviroment to us.
