WHAT IS CBT (COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY)?
The cognitive part relates to our thoughts. Certain ways of thinking can trigger or worsen problems, such as depression and anxiety-related disorders, including GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder), OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), panic attacks, specific phobias, health anxiety and social anxiety They may also contribute to physical problems.

Having been a GP for many years, I wanted to spend more time helping people to manage life's challenges.
That was difficult to achieve in ten-minute appointments!

As well as my experience as a GP, I am a fully trained and accredited CBT practitioner and a fully qualified professional coach/life coach.
I know how to listen and understand when people are in distress or struggling to find a way forwards.
I know how to respect people for who they really are and what they are capable of being, rather than making judgements about how they are behaving or performing at any one time.
I have experience of a wide range of approaches and tools that can help. and know how to use them sensitively and effectively.
