It is a lovely little shop with lots of hand made ornaments cushions etc The Christmas wreath making class was a nice size with a friendly relaxed atmosphere & lots of variety of greenery & decorations for the wreaths there were 5 of us & all wreaths were different Would highly recommend the shop & the classes Well done will love to do it again Florence

Lynds has created a magical world of gorgeous, locally produced gifts and homewares at Merchant No. 1 in Monkseaton. Bespoke, creative and personalised treasures are plentiful here. Lynds also does top quality furniture restoration, furniture painting and kitchen resprays. She even makes her own stunning jesmonite pots, trays and other decorative items. She’s always happy to talk through your project and give you a (very reasonable!) quote. Or just go and chat about her vast collection of trainers, paddleboarding or her lush kids or dogs! I never leave the shop empty-handed and have some beautiful (big and small!) things in my home thanks to Lynds. If you’ve already visited then you’ll know what I mean.
