How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Ideally it is always best to survey each individual project which we can do however, as a general guide we would check the floor to ridge height, accessibility for a new staircase and the clients goals.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Firstly we would clear out the loft space, then install structural elements for example steels, structural floor joists and timber roof members to strengthen the roof structure. We would then form openings in the roof covering for windows, install services i.e electrical and plumbing elements to meet clients requirements for that space. We would then install
insulation, partially platerboard and skim the loft area, then form new opening into the existing house to provide access for the staircase. The staircase would be installed and we would complete the platerboarding and plastering. Then we would finish to the customers desired room design and fitting.
