What do you love most about your job?
Meeting our customers! Now more than ever, human contact is vital to our wellbeing. We often come across people who are living alone and we like to think we have brightened their day/week. The satisfaction of helping people achieve their dreams is also good for the soul. We had one lovely customer who fell victim to a building scam, so we helped complete her garden and restored her faith in humanity (and the building trade).
Why should our clients choose you?
At KFG we have extensive experience in all aspects of building work; we have worked on the Truro Park & Ride facility, Ben Coolan bridge and more recently the Bodmin Jail Hotel project. We aim to always employ local tradespeople (and yes we employ female groundworkers and labourers too!). We have an excellent Commercial Manager who has a wealth of experience with big names such as Tiffany's, Fortnum & Mason and House of Fraser.
KFG don't believe any job is too small and we travel the length and breadth of Cornwall, even encroaching into Devon and Wales.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
If you provide us with photos and measurements we can sometimes provide quotes remotely, however we prefer to comes out and visit if we can. This service is of course free of charge.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All of our team carry gloves and face masks on them at all times. Our office administrator has also gained her certificate in Covid-19 Awareness.
Formworks
A full package can be offered to you including design and excavation. The whole project can be left in our hands, be it form walls, slabs or even a larger commercial development such as bridges or sea defences.
Diamond drilling and cutting
KFG have a very experienced team of drillers and cutters who have worked all over the county. We cover a vast array of services and pride ourselves on our customer satisfaction.
Patios and gardens
In more recent months we have expanded our private client base, and have worked on many gardens to include patios, decking, fencing and driveways. We have also moved into laying artificial grass as it becomes more popular across the country.
Groundworks
Essential for that first stage of your build, groundworks are another area we excel in. Site clearance, ground investigation, services (including drainage), foundations and landscaping.
Heritage work
We are proud of the work we have completed on the Bodmin Jail Hotel project, and the renovated stonework is testament to the skill and patience of our team. Cornwall is renowned for the use of lime (be it render or pointing) and this certainly something we are comfortable working with. We understand the importance of maintaining historic buildings and preserving our past.
