We arrived late at night due to a bit of a trauma on the train. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding to the point of giving us a couple of free drinks vouchers. Room very clean and comfortable, pillows not so! I found breakfast very appetising but my husband said that some of the fried foods were a little cold. Hotel has a lovely friendly feel to it. Would definitely use again if in the area and use Holiday Inn chain for future trips. More...

Lovely comfortable rooms. Great staff and service. Receptionists, Will at the bar and Shirley in the restaurant are absolutely charming, with a real passion to please.

However, the food coming out of the kitchen has more concentration on decorating the plate than on getting the basics right.

We stayed for two nights on a park and cruise deal and a further night on our return afterwards. Before going, I ordered a burger, which was lovely, but it was served on a piece of wood. A real pet hate! It was sent back to be properly plated! How on earth can it be hygienic to serve cooked food on a chopping board? Plates are glazed for a reason. They can be properly cleaned with no porous material to harbour germs! High time the food standards agency outlawed this ridiculously stupid practice of serving food on wood, roofing slates, etc.

Returning to the U.K. after 3 weeks away, we thought the beer battered fish and chips sounded great for dinner. Mistake. Big mistake!

Sadly, the fish still had the skin on it, inside the batter, which always taints the taste. You’d get sacked as a chef in the north of England (even more so in Scotland) if you served deep fried fish with the skin on. You’d go out of business very quickly when the word went around the local community that you were serving fish with the skin on it!

Far too much time concentrating on putting the beautifully cooked chips into a flower pot and the peas into a mini saucepan and not enough time spent on getting the basics right, like taking the skin off the fish! More...

I frequently use this hotel and the staff are very friendly and happy to help even going the extra mile to make you a meal that is not on the menu (seeing as I have had just about everything on it)
The only thing that lets the hotel down is the TV but I think that is the same in most Holiday inns More...

my family did a surprise birthday new years eve family do here,i was blow away by the whole experience friendly amazing food for both children and adults entertainment was brilliant for both children{magician and disco},rooms were fab spotlessly clean where did you get your mattresses from best night sleep for years highly recommend you,staff need pay rises as worked so hard all night well done to all concerned kerry and family

We had our wedding day here and it was better than we could have imagined! Amy was fantastic throughout the planning process, nothing was ever too much trouble for her. On the day, the team were amazing and the service was faultless. We loved the food, it was delicious. A special thanks to Michelle who was our wedding day fairy god mother!!! She went above and beyond to make sure the decorations were perfect, even coming in all day on her day off to make sure the day was everything we envisioned. First visit to your hotel was a pleasant surprise beautiful entrance friendly warm staff
Went to the Whitney tribute evening with 3 course meal disco dancing
Fantastic evening good food well presented hot.the service was quick.
Singer got everyone up dancing and joining in the fun
