Would never work with Chris again

This review has been a long time coming and is to correct a review I left a long time ago but haven't had a chance to delete. Chris doesn't deserve a single good review!! When he arrived I thought he seemed like a decent individual. He got started on the job and I left him to it. He got less than half way and told me he couldn't finish because the old plaster on the walls was causing his new skim to crack, which to be fair it seemed to do. So, he told me I would have to get it all removed before he can come back and finish the job. He seemed very sympathetic and promised he would return to help us out. However, I was very tight on time as it was my bathroom and I had already had bath/shower and sink removed. So, he said I had to do remove old plaster myself and that it would only take a day. It took four days of painstaking hammering and removal to take off three walls of plaster. Chris had already signed up to a new job that week but said he'd make time during the week to come back and finish the job I had already paid in full for, with the promise I'd pay for his trip (a full tank of fuel). We finished removing and plaster boarding all ourselves and asked if he was coming this evening on the Tuesday. He said no as we were supposed to give him more of a heads up that we were done. Ok, well now he knew we were done. Waited for him to show up on the Wednesday. He never did. He never replied to my text or calls. He ghosted us and ran off with a full days pay doing barely one wall of skim. We managed to find another plasterer weeks later who did a wonderful job on a Sunday to help us out and he said Chris did a shoddy job. Chris also lied to us about other parts of our house, I'm assuming in hopes of more work but that was before he ghosted us and ran off. Would not recommend. The worst!! More...

Well, I am disappointed to say the least. Sure he carried out the work which was very expensive. He didn't have the decency to take away the rubble/rubbish with a near total of £3000 (which was our only money to fix any problems)
I would expect at least a clean and tidy work area. He did say on a few occasions that he would collect it. Even stating his dog died as an excuse why he never turned up again! Classy. Suppose since he received his money we didn't matter any more. He got plaster on the dado rails and sink areas that we have had to clean up. After living in our new house for a few weeks guess what....there's damp! and I'm now having to hire another contractor to fix it. Seems Christian doesn't know what he is looking at to me. I’m sorry you feel that way Julie, making unsavoury comments when a close member of family dies is a class act indeed. Upon job completion I said we would clean the place properly and you insisted it was fine that you would do it don’t worry about it. As for the rubbish in the quote I gave I asked specifically if you wanted a skip or where you happy to dispose of the rubbish and you said you would do it especially when It took on average of an hour and a half to get to you a special trip under the circumstances did not seem fair to me I did say that I would come and collect but as I said my dog had cancer and had to be put down so unfortunately I was quite upset for a while. As for they work you say you have damp again? In the same places? I highly doubt that could be a simple case of internal walls being reinstated with bonding which I made you aware of, I’m very good at my job and I take pride in it you should of contacted me to re attend and look at the issue rather than leaving childish comments because of an unforeseen circumstance.

Very good plasterer, prompt initial visit then was able to do the work very soon after as I didn't get any further quotes as he seemed very well informed and was impressed with him. A very pleasant man and a pleasure to have working in the house. Very satisfied with the work done. More...
