I have a complex situation (don't so many of us these days?!)...Nic has helped me with income protection insurance- which was important to me, living with my two boys in a mortgaged home. But what type or level of insurance to get is not straightforward. Nic took her time to understand what I wanted & what I could afford. I'm now also writing a will as I'm divorced- and remarried- to make sure my cash goes where I want it to. Don't assume it will otherwise! Highly recommend Green Beans More...

Nic did an outstanding job creating a will for both myself and my husband. We had no knowledge or experience of writing a will and she explained it all so clearly - guiding us through the process carefully and thoughtfully. I love connecting with people and I love to solve problems. I'm a natural born fixer, and as a mortgage advisor I get to bulld brilliant relationships with my clients and solve their problems every day of the week.

I take pride in my work because life is better that way. It feels good to get recommendations. It feels good to know I’ve helped make a family secure. It feels good to do the right thing.

I qualified as stockbroker and financial advisor and began working in the industry in 2000. It was all high pressure sales for the biggest commissions, but I lacked the killer instinct. My conscience stood squarely in the way so I left financial services.

But a few years ago, while remortgaging our home - I realised, there's a great yawning gap. There are so many people who need decent, straight up advice and not enough people giving it.

I had a lovely chap taking care of my remortgage but when he asked me about life insurance I fobbed him off and he left it at that. Because nobody ever wants to buy life insurance, nobody gets the fuzzies thinking about critical illness cover, and nobody gets giddy over writing a will, but I needed all of them and he should have given it to me straight.

So I asked around, friends, colleagues, family, all smart sensible people and they were just as bad.
Maybe it’s optimism? But more likely it’s denial, because we don’t want to accept our mortality or our vulnerability.

And that was my inspiration. To help people like me and my friends.

Mortgages aren’t exciting. They’re just not. It’s people that I’m passionate about.

I retrained and requalified so that I could set up my own company because I wanted to grow a business based on doing the right thing.
