Grasmere House Hotel

A comfortable hotel with good sized rooms and a clean modern bathroom ||Well situated within a short walk of the cathedral and center of the the medieval city||The breakfast is of good quality ingredients but is let down by being served as a buffet with ingredients drying out||Would benefit from being cooked in smaller batches||Nevertheless would still stay here again

Could not have done more to make our stay more relaxed. Very helpful staff and other guests were lovely. Breakfast was good and whilst no dogs in dining area, they set us up in bar area with table for the three of us. Thoroughly recommend it. We stayed at this House Hotel for 4 years, this was our 4th time here. Why do we choose to stay here? We like the garden and the little stream (river) at the back of the House. ||||We always had a very nice, spacious room, and this year we got a very stunning view of Cathedral from our room. However, the furniture was tiring, too soft to sit for me, but not for my spouse.||The bed was a little bit over the top for us. It must be very popular in the past!|||| The iron and the iron stand was in our way. The bathroom was functional but not that spacious.|||| Breakfast was alright because we did not expect much from breakfast, but the room for breakfast needed to renovate. It was stuffy with many tables and the white blind which even made it worse no one would open the white curtain blinds in the breakfast room. ||||We never ordered any meal or had lunch here. Therefore, we don't know about the food. ||||We enjoyed our time at the garden and we like to walk around from the House and enjoyed the beauty of all the houses near the Cathedral. This was good enough for us, because we enjoyed the nature and the beautiful houses around the House.|||| We love nature and the view was of Cathedral was stunning and we are looking forward to staying there again next summer.Thanks the staff of Grasmere House Hotel who gave us the best room we ever had. It was a wonderful place to feel good. A wonderful hotel with an excellent restaurant and excellent cuisine. All this was surpassed by a warm and incredibly friendly and professional staff. Tolles Zimmer, sehr aufmerksames Personal. Da wir mit 2 Hunden kamen, wurde uns ein Zimmer mit direktem Zugang zum riesigen Garten gegeben. Gratisparkplatz beim Haus.In 15 Minuten zu Fuß im Zentrum und bei der Kathedrale ( in die übrigends Hunde auch hinein dürfen).Frühstücksbuffet im britischen Stil. Een hotel als een charmante oude dame. ||Ontvangst uiterst vriendelijk, hulpvaardig en persoonlijk. Beste wat we de afgelopen week hebben ervaren! ||Kamers zijn voldoende groot met prima bedden. Badkamers met prima douche. ||Wel gedateerd en toe aan renovatie. Aan de andere kant geldt dit voor veel Engelse gelegenheden zoals restaurants, hotels, pubs, tearooms en openbare gebouwen. ||Ontbijt echt Engels wat voor een Nederlandse gezonde magere eter bent beperkt is. Engelsen smullen er heerlijk van. :-)||Tuin is leuk om te vertoeven. Wij zijn op ons picknick kleed gaan zitten. Meer ligstoelen waren wel welkom geweest. ||Wij vinden het een aanrader. More...

We've stayed at Grasmere Hotel several times over the years and have always enjoyed our stay. Staff are most welcoming. Room 8 is our favourite and noticed since our last visit it had been updated. Beautiful outlook on to gardens leading down to River Avon and view of Salisbury Cathedral. Room was clean and staff most helpful and friendly. On our 3rd night we did have rather uncouth, rowdy neighbours at 2am in the morning, but on phoning reception it was efficiently dealt with. We will be back. More...
