Emily teaches through movement and mindfulness an awareness of body and being within the world. The asanas encourage both physical and mental strength and flexibility and Emily’s clear instruction makes following the poses easy. I feel rejuvenated after a yoga session with Emily, at peace with myself, and week by week my body is being gently coaxed into optimal strength and wellness. More...

I had a session of yoga this morning and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t been practicing yoga for a while and Emily was so helpful and knowledgeable as I do have lower back issues. I felt calm, relaxed and very zen afterwards! Emily has lovely energy and set up the class in a really lovely way with calming music, blankets and I bought a lovely lavender eye pillow too. Thank you Emily, I look forward to doing more sessions. Justine x More...

Q&As

I love teaching yoga because I can really help to improve people's quality of life. The ancient art of yoga is actually a handbook for living a happier, easier and healthier life. My passion is helping my clients to apply its wisdom to their lives and unlock the benefits.

Having come from the corporate world I understand as well as anyone the pressures and challenges that it provides. I've loved yoga since before the turn of the century so when I took time out to have children it seemed my path (Dharma in yoga speak) was obvious.

I love what I do and it seems that my students love it too. You can view some of their comments via my website: http://emilybruce.yoga/what-my-students-say

I have an awesome Yoga Pod in my garden which is just perfect for one on one Yoga classes and for Zoom sessions. So we can work face to face or online, I'm easy.

During the first lockdown I started teaching exclusively online and gave all the profits from my classes to an NHS charity. Now we're back face to face I follow all the relevant guidelines and keep up to date with what's required.

Services

You tell me your goals and how you want to feel after the class (energised, calm or balanced and grounded) and together we’ll co-create the perfect class to meet your needs.

I can come to you; suggest some venues locally; or you can come to my purpose built 1 to 1 yoga studio in Colden Common.

Underfloor heating under a yoga mat is truly wonderful! And I have all the blocks, props, blankets and bolsters you could dream of so we can make your final relaxation ultimately comfortable so you float out feeling supremely rested!

You get everything you get with the standard 1 to 1 60 minute session plus a personalised Guided Relaxation so you can recreate perfect rest anytime you need it.

If you’ve never used an eye pillow you are in for a real treat! I think they are the secret sauce in the recipes for deep relaxation.

This package is ideal if you suffer from insomnia, stress or anxiety. Or if you could just benefit from some profound rest.

If you want to make real change in your life it comes down to regular practice.

Whatever your goal (improved sleep, reduced stress levels, better range of movement or support with pain management for example), the fastest way to the results you want is to begin to embed a yoga practice into your daily life.

Don’t worry, that doesn’t have to mean a 60 minute asana practice before dawn. Depending on what you want to achieve it might be a 5, 10 or 15 minute session that fits into your daily or weekly schedule.

It could be a short bedtime ritual that helps prepare you for a restful nights sleep.

Or perhaps a quick breathing practice and neck and shoulder stretch you can use during the work day to relieve stress and tension.

Or a 15 minute daily practice to build strength, stamina and flexibility whilst targeting your problem area.

You set the goal and together we craft a solution.
