How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
A good indication is if neighbouring properties have a loft conversion. As a general rule you need to have around 2.2m from the loft floor to the highest point in height to allow for sufficient headroom. If there is not enough headroom, you can lower ceilings below providing, again that the allowance for headroom is sufficient.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
1. Erect scaffolding to provide independent access to the loft area.
2. Structural beams installed.
3. Build dormer structure, install velux windows.
4. Tile roof and dormer.
5. Build interior partitions, doorways and ceilings.
6. Insulate interior, install windows.
7. 1st fix of electrics and plumbing.
8. Create new access staircase.
9. Plasterboard and plaster throughout.
10. Final fix of plumbing & electrics (if required)

All works completed by Regal Building & Renovations has a 10 year insurance backed guarantee. This covers you against any issues that are as a result of poor workmanship but do not cover against any malicious damages or damages caused by the elements.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people and creating lasting working relationships. I also love being a part of making people homes their dream home.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My entire family are involve in the building industry in one way or another so I've grown up around it my whole life. My parents ran their own building company for most of my childhood and my brother grew up and chose to do architecture.
