This fine 18th century building flanking the Town Square at Angel Hill, sporting its veranda topped four columned portico that enhances an excellent facade, was the venue for our daughter's wedding ceremony on 24th August this year. The spacious interior was particularly light and airy and gave us a welcome feeling on our arrival. The service was very well conducted; all of which made for a memorable occasion. We are aware that this venue has much more to offer, in the way of conferences, receptions and group activities. I have no hesitation in recommending this Register Office to others. More...

To Louise & The Athenaeum,
We want to say a massive thank you for the being the venue for our Wedding on 19th Sept 2015! We fell in love with the Athenaeum the first time we saw it :) and we couldn't imagine our reception anywhere else! The ballroom is truly stunning and was perfect in every single way. Also being able to have the Reception drinks & canapés in the Rose Garden was great - especially as the weather was lovely on the day. Louise has been an amazing wedding coordinator from start to finish, talking through every detail with us and a great source of practical advice - nothing was too much trouble. The staff on the day were superb & professional, and it ran so smoothly.

I would "love it" if they let us in early to go to the bar before the performance.
Ticket time was 12.30pm, we arrive early to go to the bar and were sent away to come back at 12. 30. When we came back at 12.30 we joined the end of an outside queue. Come on, open the bar an hour earlier please ;-) More...

Me and a few friends came for the Great Gatsby Christmas party night and I must say we all had a great evening I went to one last year but this year's was so much better because it had a Gatsby theme I do hope you will to this sort of thing again was great fun and made a great atmosphere.

Our daughter and son in law were married here in the ballroom, and held their wedding breakfast and evening celebration here on Saturday. We cannot thank the staff enough for making their day so special. From the first meeting to discuss their requirements, to the actuall day of the wedding, the staff were professional and efficient and friendly.
