A lovely stay! Highly, highly recommend! Paul and Michael went above and beyond to anticipate our needs and make our stay fantastic and comfortable. We got the best sleep of our trip at their place- the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Their hospitality is unmatched. They made a lovely breakfast with plenty of options for us, even packed us some of our favourites to bring en route to the airport when we left at the crack of dawn for our flight. They set up a beautiful clean space- lots of wonderful artwork, calming music and plants everywhere you look! (Lovely artwork Michael!) They have brilliant recommendations- my partner and I had some of the best seafood paella we've ever had at a local Sunday market. We wish we could have stayed longer and spent more time at their place. Paul and Michael, thank you again so much! And hope to stay with you again. More...

Words alone can not describe how wonderful Crescent House is! Myself and my daughter have just returned from a fantastic trip to Edinburgh, made extra special by our stay in this beautiful guesthouse. Impeccable decoration and attention to detail evoke feelings of serenity in this stunning Georgian townhouse. Sitting at the window, looking out over the city, I felt so comfortable and content I could have sat there all day. Buddha breakfasts are divine, with Mike serving up a lovely fresh fruit salad and Greek yoghurt, an array of fresh baked pastries, toast, crumpets, cereals, cheeses and meats and an abundance of teas, coffees, juices and water. Breakfast here is not just a necessity, it’s a whole sensory experience. You can not praise Crescent House on the environment alone, Mike and Paul are exceptional hosts who go over and above to ensure your stay is perfect. Welcoming, friendly, interesting and enthusiastically knowledgeable on their beautiful city, they make sure your trip is all you would hope for. The experience begins before you arrive with the hosts making contact and ensuring your set for your trip and their attentiveness doesn’t falter at all. Paul went over and above to help us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.Another charm to behold this guesthouse is the artwork which adorns the walls, original art by Michael Worobec - one of the hosts. Mikes home and art house, showcase his evolving art and Mike is more than happy to discuss his works and share his passion for art.Crescent House, you are fantastic and deserve the recognition for your exceptional service. 5* More...

A superb hotel, incredible value, for our 11th trip to Edinburgh for the Fringe this is by far the best, and best value hotel. This superb three room hotel / guesthouse worked out cheaper than a Premier Inn and a MacDonald Hotel, which is going it some, considering breakfast was included.Crescent House is a beautiful three storey house in the Broughton area of Edinburgh, north of the city/New Town area. Paul and Mike are the two hosts and are incredibly friendly, helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and interesting. As Edfringe vets we know the city well but they still introduced us to new bars, restaurants and areas. The rooms are superb, ours was the Calton Room, with views of Calton Hill, New Town and the new St James Quarter shopping centre. After years staying nearby, it’s good to see the mass of cranes finally gone.Calton Room is generous, double bed, sofa, chairs and table, a generous bathroom with bath (I was allowed to use the downstairs rainfall shower which was a godsend) my wife prefers the bath. Our room on the third floor was immaculately clean, tidy, modern and quiet at all times.Being only three rooms it’s a nice chilled relaxed environment, Paul and Mike hosting a Fringe venue with Mike’s art is a great idea, and gives the hotel a different feel.Breakfast is excellent, a generous mix of cereal, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, pastries, toast, crumpets, conserves, coffee, juice and a mix of Scottish treats. We will be back, we are sure of that!14-18/08/22 More...

Crescent House really has it all if you are visiting Edinburgh for a five class stay, at a great price. It is in a fab part of town for easy access to all the main tourist areas, or to while away the hours wandering around to find your own ' Instagram' spots. The house is a wonder, whilst very modern is warm and inviting, with a beautiful sweeping staircase and fantastic artwork by one of the hosts, Mike, throughout. The room was immaculate, with fantastic en-suite facilities, and each morning a fresh breakfast is prepared to set you up for the day. It is a haven of calm and relaxed, with a warm Scottish welcome. The wonderful hosts, Paul and Mike, are an absolute delight. My husband and I had done a considerable amount of research before booking a 4-night stay at the Crescent House with Paul and Michael—needless to say, our experience lived up to every glowing review written by other travellers. The house itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Michael’s contemporary artwork contrasts (and complements) Georgian architecture perfectly. Our room (the Heriot Suite) was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed to get ready for our friend’s wedding. As mentioned by others, the real points of distinction of our stay were Paul and Michael themselves—they are warm, welcoming and thoughtful every step of the way. Even before we got there, Paul was kind enough to send us recommendations of activities to do in Edinburgh so that we could make bookings in time. We thoroughly enjoyed Michael’s company (and crepes!) during the Buddha breakfast. We were also lucky to have the opportunity to meet Paul’s parents—who were just as kind and friendly. In a nutshell, you will not regret staying with Paul and Michael—they really have mastered ‘the art of hospitality.' Of all the beautiful classic hotels I have been fortunate enough to stay at, including The Waldorf, Edinburgh, The Ritz, Dorchester, Café Royal, and Corinthia, London, none of these compare to the kind and significant service and attention to detail that is afforded at the wonderful Georgian House that is Number 13 Claremont Crescent, ' Crescent House’, Edinburgh. Beautifully restored with a choice of elegant and appointed suites to choose that are contemporary, modern and discerning, and all boast remarkable views across the surrounding panorama of Edinburgh. My boyfriend and I stayed at this gorgeous property in Edinburgh for 3 nights. Needless to say, it was a wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. Here are a few salient points if you are thinking about staying here in the near future.1. Michael and Paul have created an affordable, yet luxurious experience with all the qualities one would expect from a 5-star hotel. They have accomplished this without sacrificing the "home away from home" experience. Despite the rigorous COVID-protocols to ensure the safety of their guests, this did not detract from our experience whatsoever.2. The property is immaculate, which for us, was the most important factor. Moreover, Michael and Paul have incredible taste: from the art on the wall (painted by Michael) to the bathroom’s modern design, it was clear that everything fit cohesively into the avant-garde feel of the property. You can tell that both hosts are extremely detail-oriented and have put a lot of thought and care into curating the perfect experience for their guests.3. Having injured my back the day before travelling, Paul offered their new complementary state-of-the-art massage device for me to try. This device ended up saving our trip, as I ended up doing 5+ sessions just to gain mobility in my back during our stay. This was particularly critical on the day we hiked up Arthur's Seat. This was but one example of how the hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.4. Our stay would not have been the same without the hosts themselves. Michael and Paul are affable hosts that genuinely cared for us. One of our favourite memories was starting each day with the outstanding Buddha breakfast served by Michael. If you’re lucky, he may even sing for you.All in all, a sublime experience. It is unforeseeable that we would even consider staying elsewhere next time we are in Edinburgh. This is what a short-term stay should be like. More...

The Buddha breakfast served every morning was delicious and both Michael and Paul chat to us as they provided an array of wonderful food and drink. You have to try the tasty homemade fruit salad! We were invited for a drink in the garden opposite the house which was lovely.
